Maccenna's stomach turned into a not. No, she did not have armor. She did not like it for it seemed too heavy to her. She'd rather where none at all.
It's okay. She thought to her self. I'll shoot them before they reach me.
Maccenna's hands shook though as she grabbed her bow. She knew she was a fair markswoman ( ;D ) but she was young and still had alot to learn. She was not the best in the world and never really cared until now. Now she wished she was.
As she thought to herself, Maccenna tightend her bow string and examined her quivers. Though she knew she would hardly use it, she got a feel for her sword. Then, the went and stood next to Geddo. "You fought a Basilisk?" She asked.

"yes, Chase and I both did, but if you want to know the whole story ask Amory. I only remeber falling through a hole, landing on a snake, and taking its skin. I dont remeber what happened during the fight." Geddo said sadly.

Maccenna loosened up abit. She was not frightened as much as she was before. The thought that she was standing beside two men who fought a basilisk made her feel alot better.
"Were you knocked unconcious during the fight, Geddo?" she asked.

"No. He fought bravely... like a true pirate." Chase recalled the battle, running it through in his mind, but after the basilisk's death, he couldn't remember all too well. He had been too tired.
"Me and a pirate named Poker were searching through the Emerald Mines, making and honest living," he coughed sarcastically, then continued. "We opened up a massive cavern while we were digging, and we naturally went in to investigate." He shook his head. "It woke up pretty much the insant we walked in. And then we ran..."
He turned to face Maccenna and Geddo. "I told Amory of the basilisk, and somehow the Navy found out as well. We all went in to hunt it down and kill it. Geddo was one of the hunters... in the end," remembering that he hadn't been there at the start. "The pirates engaged the baslisk when it tried to ambush us, and the Navy joined in soon after. It knocked out Poker quickly, and also the Fleet Admiral of the Navy, but she managed to put a sword through its mouth before she went." He thought back , trying to remember his actions. "I shot it in the side of the mouth..." He inadvertently touched his crossbow. "And Amory must have been the one to give the final blow, to the back of the head..." He tapped his head.
"From there, my memory is at a failure... I was weary from combat, both mentally and physically."
He looked out towards the shore, "Take us around to that small bay over there," he told the guard at the wheel, pointing off towards a bay that was still so far away he doubted if the guard could see it at all...

"Aye, that was true, hehe, took most of the bloody snakes skin when everyone left. Must have stayed in there for three days. But my prize is good enough. I got enough scales to make armor for 5 pirates. Though i will give one to amory and another to poker. One for myself. I dont know what we are going to do with the rest of it. O well. Hey, I think we are here." The boat was getting close to the shore.
((Should we take this to the siege thread now?))

Maccenna looked at Chase, "So you were the one who actually found it? Was anybody killed while fighting this basilisk?" Her sight wondered from Chase to the small bay he had ordered the guard at the wheel to steer the ship to.
"It this where we shall get off?" asked Maccenna. She could feel adrenaline rush through her body and blood roar in her ears. Was she excited, nervous or both? She could not tell.

Chase looked at the bay with hollow eyes, "Several guards of the Emerald Mine were ripped to shreds in front of my eyes. But that doesn't matter any more..."
"Stop the ship here Sergeant," Chase said to the guard at the wheel. The ship wheeled about and stopped a fair way off shore. He walked over to where the rowboats were being readied for departure.
"Everybody into the longboats, get ready to go ashore, and to war..."
He turned back to Maccenna and Geddo, "Here we go..."
ooc: Yeah, move into the Siege of Racana thread now... I'll start us off...

Maccenna followed Chase to the Long boats. She clenched her fists and bit her lip.
"How many men are lost or forgotton when they die?" She asked Chase suddenly. "If I die, I don't want to be forgotton..."

ooc: Fine, we can continue here if you want... but the battle is happening in the siege of Racan just so you know... And Ice will be pissed if he finds out we're in more than two threads...
"Men are never lost when they die, nor are they forgotten," replied Chase when they were both in a boat. "Men forget men, and men lose men... But there are things about us that never die Maccenna. When we die, we will know for sure."
And then he thought about the rest of what she had said, "You won't die here Maccenna. We have the element of surprise, and a thick forest to protect us... You won't be forgotten here. None of us will..."
