Lyneya stood silently, completely alone as the cold breeze of morning came off the sea and towards her.
The ocean always seemed to look more beautiful when it contrasted so well against the grasslands of the Isla de Meuna.
The cold wind rustled Lyneya's hair and she reached up to adjust her tiara. Her hood was down, as it normally was when she was near the ocean. All the better to hear the whispers of the ocean. If Lyneya tried to listen really closely, they almost sounded like her mother.
Lyneya sighed and continued standing, alone, watching the waves roll onto the land and always scanning the horizon for white cruisers.

Neu'ren had taken a smal vessel that could be controlled by one person. She sailed along the cliff, being carefull not to get too close. Small waves tilted the boat back and forth. Her long figure was stretched out, leaning against the side. The ocean dampened her clothers, but she didn't mind. She hummed softly to keep herself entertained. The cliffs slowly descended, opening up to a small beach. She sailed on straight until she reached the middle of the sandy beach. She came about, saling diagnaly towards the beach. After a few minutes, she reached the shore. Hopping out, Nau'ren pulled up her vessel and left to scout around. She hadn't been on this side before, and she wanted to see what everything looked like, so she could know what obstacles layed around them.

Lyneya heard the humming and she immediately spun around to who it was. Could it be? After all these years? The glimmer of hope within her was rekindled.
But no...that wasn't the right ship...and that wasn't her mother. Her mother had had blonde hair and she was far older than this person dressed in naval uniform.
Lyneya looked at the ground, the glimmer of hope blown out as suddenly as it had been kindled.

Nau'ren, still humming, leaned forward to climb up the hill. The sand had now turned into grass that stood high above ehr ankles. She sucked in the fresh sea air, swarming her lungs with coolness. Exhaling, she turned towards her pouch to get a sip from her water skin. The clean liquid felt more solid compared to the salty sea water that found its way to her mouth.

Lyneya watched the person for a time, standing completely silent on the beach front. The tide was coming in and it was lightly splashing against her feet and then sucking back out to sea, leaving her feet near buried within the sand.
Lyneya adjusted her tiara again and lifted her dress up higher so it wouldn't get wet in the rising tide.

Nau'ren felt that someone was watching her. Her strawberry hair rippled in the breeze that flowed off the shore. She saw another women wading in the water. Showing she meant no harm, her hand raised high, waving back and forth. She took long strides back towards the water that ebbed back. The sea air still filled her lungs with a pleasant coolness.
Reaching the lady, Nau'ren held out her perfectly clean hand to greet the other. "Sorry, I must have missed you along the shore. I am Nau'ren, Soldier of the navy. I wear my colors to prove where I am from." She bent her back to show off her uniform's colors. Then relizing she took her hand away, she held it out again to shake.

Lyneya looked at Naval Officer's hand and cocked her head to one side. She stepped out of the water and let her dress drop around her feet.
She never touched the Naval Officer's hand, never shook it. She looked around for a second, wondering if there was a way to walk away, but she was on and open beach and there were no distractions.
"Hello..." Lyneya said finally, looking back at the Naval Officer.

Not very talkative, is she? Nau'ren thought. Thinking her hand was dirty, she brought it back to her to wipe it on her already dirty pants. She hated being dirty. "May I ask what your name is?" She asked, hoping she could eventually know something about her.

Lyneya looked at the ground, then looked back up again before looking out to the ocean. The waves were rolling in calmly and the sea was rising slowly, slowly.
Lyneya smiled as the sun brushed her face gently and caressed her skin.
"Lyneya." She said airily, still looking out to the sea and smiling.

(Sorry, Nau'ren doesn't care about dirt, It was my other character that Hates dirt.)
Nau'ren smiled from ear to ear. That gave me a lot to work with. "So... What brings you here?" She tried to bring up converstaion so Lyneya could get to know her.

Lyneya stayed staring out at the sea for a while. She knew that she must seem aloof and yet she didn't mind.
Finally, she turned back to the naval officer, Nau'ren. "I am a wanderer." Lyeneya replied. "I always stay by the sea in my travels.

Nau'ren smiled as she thought. Yay, she said more than one sentence! That question might bring up a good conversation and she went on, "Yeah, I'm a close-to-the-sea type too. Unless I am ordered somewhere else, I stay at sea. But somehow I am losing my touch at listening to the beauty of the ocean. The sounds and smells seem to have been muffled to my ear and nose." She paused, knowing Lyneya most likely won't answer and went on again, "I wish I was keen to my surroundings, but being out there so much has taken me away from caring..." She trailed off. trying to take in the smell of the sea on purpose. However, the smell seemed like just another smell to her. Her smile had disappeared now, and she too stared out at the choppy waters.
Not wanting to be looked at as the "touchy" type, Nau'ren smiled again and started up aomething knew. "So, are you under anyone's command right now, or is this your free time?"

Lyneya smiled. The feeling seemed so alien to her. She and Nau'ren were both looking out to the choppy waters. It was silent for a while tipp Lyneya breathed in deeply.
"The sounds and smells of the ocean are the closest things I have to friends." Lyneya said quietly.
"I am part of no army, if that is what you mean." Lyneya said. "I will take no part in the wars that are ripping this world apart."

Nau'ren turned her head to look at Lyneya when she spoke. She wasn't expecting for her to look back. Nau'ren felt sorry for her. i need friends to make my way through life. And fighting in wars made them become closer. But she agreed too about the not having wars. "Yes, war tears us apart. But we must fight for what we believe. Peace is impossable to come in this world. And I believe no world has ever had peace. Nor will it ever." She still rested her eyes upon Lyneya, hoping she would make eye contact.

Lyneya still looked out at the ocean. The wind was stirring her hair, just a little bit. She could feel it flying across her skin.
"It's all opinion..." Lyneya said absently. "No land should be forced into war. It is not the land's fault. Humans are the ones that cause war and yet it is everything else that gets hurt..."
Lyneya's voice trailed off as she looked away.
"Well, Nau'ren, I have to leave. I doubt I shall ever see you again. Goodbye." Lyneya curtsied gracefully and began walking down the beach.
