Khalora thought about that long and hard. It was true he had taken his word off his father, but he had been a keen ruler in his time, for all he knew...
Khalora turned so that he was no longer standing side on to her, and instead he was facing her fully. "You say that no-one can fully prove that you committed those crimes..." Khalora sheathed his sword into its large scabbard and held the pommel in his left hand. "... so you have to prove that you didn't... fully."
Khalora looked down at the port, the Southern Flame stood there high and proud, dwarfing most of the ships there, by the far the most glamorous. "I have little idea of why, but I will do neither. I won't take you there in chains, and I won't let you run away free." Khalora was talking rather sternly with her now, knowing this first meeting would dictate most of the remainder of their lives if they saw each other.
"I'm giving you this chance to go, and prove your innocence, and when you've found it. You can show me, and then you will be absolved. You have my word."
Khalora was about to turn and leave, when he dropped his voice and continued, "But if you betray my mercy, you will see no end to my wrath. I will hunt you like my father. And where he failed I will succeed, you have my word on that as well. I pray it won't come to that. Do you want to be on the run for the rest of your life?"
He turned and took a few stepd down the hill, "Or do you want to go home?" And with that he was off, Bakana at his heels, lumbering behind him, on his way to the Flame.

Nina couldn't help but stare at him skeptically as he sheathed his sword. She followed his gaze as he stared down at the port where one ship stood out among the rest; no doubt it was the famous Flame of Alessio Khalora.
Nina's eyes widened in surprise with his next words. He was letting her go... for now. That was more than she expected. She replaced Valdis within his sheath and watched as Khalora turned to leave. She opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off with his last warning.
She stood in silence. She did not want to run forever, but if that's what it took, she would. Even if she could never prove herself, she would never submit to chains and the justice that Khalora promised her (just as his father did).
...........or do you want to go home?...........
Home.
That was a word Nina had not used in a long time. She did not have a home to go back to. No; she did not want to go home.
"I just want a clean name, and a new start. I want all of those people to know that I'm not the heartless woman who killed her own fiancé out of spite..." Nina breathed. Khalora was out of earshot by now, and Nina was merely speaking to herself.
The night had been long. Behind her in the east, a slight orange glow could be seen on the horizon. Dawn was fast approaching...

Khalora looked back at the hilltop as the Flame glided smoothly out of the bay. He had seemed to get out rather at the right time too, as a few warships followed his out and formed a blockade just after him. Glad to have beaten that, he thought.
He couldn't see Nina, and the sun was rising now, so the seas were starting to colour again and the hills were lightening slowly, the green returning to them. He wondered whether Nina would seacrh for the evidence of her innocence, and somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered whether there was any to be found at all. But he pushed the thought away.
Nina would probably start a new chapter in her life, Alessio should just continue with the old one...
ooc: So, should we call it a day then? Theres not much left to do here anyway...
