Maccenna slowly walked into Alante jungle. There was a timid step in her pace as she moved along the bracken and brush, minding to remain in the shadows, her bow cluched tightly in her right hand. Though it was not drawn, she would be quick to react if she felt in danger. She did not have a clue where to go. As she did not have a boat, she could not leave Danarta. Her only passage across open water was with Alessio Khalora but she did not know where he was either and so she only hoped that his ship had not left the land yet. The slightest tremble of leaves made Maccenna spin around and draw her bow but when she found it was only a small rabbit did she relax again. The resigning of Armory had quite shaken her. She had no idea where the former pirate queen had gone for she had seen or heard nothing of her since the time she had left her position. Now Geddo of the East was in charge. Maccenna was happy for him and she would hae no problem in following him as she considered him a friend, but still the dissappearance of Armory overwhelmed her. Was it some enemy that had taken her or had she just simply left? Finding a nice clearing, Maccenna sat down on a rock and looked about her. If niether Geddo nor Alessio found her hear, she would go and search for them. Praying that the ship had not left yet, she looked around her with a keen eye, ready to spring at any moment.
((OOC: I did not know what to write and to be honest, I have no muse so it is not that good. Well I hope this is enough to get something going.))

Alessio sighed as he walked across the aft deck of the Southern Flame. So much had changed in the past few years. The Navy had taken Racana, and they had managed to repel them out of the city. Then the Ice Warriors had taken control of Arna and the Navy had run them out of the city, only to be taken by surprise by a renewed Southern force.
Now with the armies strengths mostly back to their original strength, and with the cities repaired as best they could be, it seemed that they were all back at square one. Alessio sighed again, knowing that the war would not end in his lifetime. It would probably go on for years, maybe centuries longer and there was nothing Khalora could do about it...
...except fight.
Amory had resigned her post, a reason for which she had indulged him with and he doubted that many other people knew why, and he was going to keep it that way. He had heard also that the Naval Lord had passed away, but Khalora had always knew that he was getting on in years. Beyond that, he wasn't sure how the Ice Warriors and Fallen Angels were faring. After their first unsuccessful intelligence mission with Calypso and Chase, there hadn't been many more.
The ship rocked slightly in the rising sea, just off the port of the Last Outpost of the South. One of the strongest points on Danarta. The repairs to his ship after the naval battle two years ago were now finally completed and he was relishing the moment when he now stood at the helm of his battle-ready warship.
A Lieutenant brought him a list of sailors who were now employed by the Flame, and they were all accounted for... except one.
Khalora wondered where Maccenna had gotten to. They would be leaving soon, she had to be quick...

Having sat where she was for a fair amount of time, Maccenna decided that her feeble plan was beyond stupid. She knew she would have to find the Southern Flame and Khalora herself or it would be too late and she would be left behind. By that time it could take her months to find them. She had been to Racana and Sanara. There was only one last place to look. Slinging her bow accross her, Maccenna lept to her feet and began to sprint through the woods. She had to get to the last out post of the south. She had little Idea where it was, but she was determined to find it. Leaping over brush and bracken, she soon broke through Alante jungle. finding the shoreline she jogged around it and looked to the horizon. It was now she wished she had a bird. Then perhaps she could send Khalora a message.
((OOC: Ummm... Should I just post that I found the ship in this thread- including the last outpost of the south?))

ooc: No, theres no actual thread for the last Outpost of the South, or for the ship. The thread started here, so we'll continue it here ;D The easiest option
Khalora glanced again at the woods plains just outside of the Outpost. The Southern Flame was by far the largest ship in the Danartan fleet. If Maccenna was coming she'd see him. Also, it was pretty flat open country out here, and the town sentries can see for miles. If she was coming, he'd soon get word of a pirate approaching the city.
He watched as some of the sailors hefted a few of the large boulders for the catapult onto the aft deck of the ship and placed them in the large holding cell just below and behind the arm. There were barrels of pitch along the upper deck of the Flame for archers to light their arrows, but the largest barrel by far was the one beside the catapult, to light the boulders.
About a year ago, Achilles had died while he was rounding some Ice warriors in the outskirts of Arna. It had taken three bowmen firing continuously to bring down the warhorse, and even then the horse tried to move on, dieing mid gallop. Alessio looked at his feet at the thought of his horse. It had been a long time, the pain was easing.
He thought that maybe Maccenna didn't actually want to leave Danarta. Maybe she didn't want to return to Teer just yet. Although she probably did. Khalora glanced at his charts again. There next stop was the capital of Teer. They were heading straight for Tritern...

Maccenna came breathless around the coast that edged the last outpost of the south. She bent over her knees and panted before she regained herself once more and looked about her. Her heart lifted as she saw the Ship still moored there. Without taking a second glance, she rushed through the small entrance of the Last out post of the south and down the small warf where The Southern Flame was still being loaded. She could see Alessio looking over what must have been maps or plans, and after stopping quickly to look at the mighty ship, Maccenna ran up the loading ramp and onto the Southern Flame. Her braid now loose from her extreemly long and tireing run, Maccenna rushed over to the captain. "Sorry, Captain Khalora. I got lost after the battle." She felt ashamed for she, as luetenent, should have been one of the first to return to the ship.

Khalora looked up at the sound of a familiar voice, "Maccenna! You made it!" He pushed aside the maps he was looking at focused entirely on his second-in-command. "What happened? I was afraid you wouldn't return after we lost track of you just outside of the jungles."
He looked at her loose braid and her red face, she must have been running quite hard for quite some time, "You should probably sit down Maccenna. Here come to my office and have some water."
He walked under the deck and opened the door to his cabin. It was lush, but not to the point of extravangance. There was a pint of water sitting on the table and he filled up a golden goblet with the clear liquid. He handed it to Maccenna, offering her a chair next to the table. "Here..."
"We wouldn't have left for a while longer, I wanted to give you the best chance of getting back here if you were still going to remain Lieutenant." He smiled. "I'm happy you chose to stay, we've lost quite a number of crew in the battle..."

Surprised, Maccenna meekly foolwed Khalora into his cabin. It may have not been extravagant, but it was comfortable looking. She greatfully took the chair he offered and rested her head momentarily on her hands. She was not really paying attention to what Khalora was saying. He mind was still bogged down with the battle of reccanna and the resent Resignation of Amory.
She sighed. It was not untill Khalora mentioned that they had lost a fair amount of crew did, she look up. "How many- who did we loose?" she asked.
It had not occured to her that she may have lost friends or that there would be death at all. True she thought of the battle but she had not thought about those who may have died defending the city.

Khalora fumbled for words. But there was no point denying the truth. "We lost at least half the crew I'm afraid Lieutenant. Most of the pirates in the crew were either killed in the siege, or resigned after Amory... left." He still wasn't ready to tell anyone why she had left. "I've managed to hire more sailors, mostly of Southern origin. It is with difficulty that I say you are one of the few pirates remaining on the Flame. Only the truly loyal ones have remained, like yourself."
Khalora sat down in the chair, aiming his sheathed sword away from the side. "I know it is quite a loss, but there is no point in dwelling on our losses," he was eager to change the topic. "So tell me. Have you recieve word on who will replace Amory yet?"

Maccenna lowered her head as she listened to Khalora. It was a horrible thing, she thought, that so many people had to die. She wondered how it could feel for the families and friends of those people who had died for the city, yet she could not imagine the pain herself, for as far as she had known, she had not lost anyone she thought she had loved or befreinded. At least not yet.
She looked at her hands as Khalora began to speak again. So they all just left after that? THe ones who had survived? She felt somewhat discusted by their lack of loyalty. Cowards.
When Khalora asked her on knews about the new ruler of the Pirates, she looked up and shook her head. "I have heard nothing about it as of yet. So much has happened in such little time that it is hard to catch everything."
She wondered who would be the new Pirate Queen or King. There were very few canidates for it and she wondered if this new King or Queen would be strong enough to handle the dangers that were heading their way. She wondered if the coming of a new King or Queen would brake the alliance between pirates and southernes. Then where would she go? Would she have to choose?
Still looking at her hands, Maccenna asked. "Who, amoung those who originally enlisted as crew on the ship still remain here?"

Khalora nodded at her unknowing of the new ruler of the pirates. it was perfectly understandable, and he half expected it from her, only betting on the possibility that she may have recieved a carrier hawk or similar message, but alas.
"No matter Maccenna, we shall soon find out who the new ruler is. The whole reason of this venture is to decide upin the fate of our alleigance. Personally I would prefer it remain in place, and I hope it can."
He breathed in long and deeply as he ran through his mind the list of sailors who Maccenna had known and who had left the crew, "Amory, of course, is no longer part of the crew. I'm not sure where she has gone..." he lied. "...Calypso died during the Siege of Racana fulfilling her duty towards the hierarchy of Danarta. She went down fighting. Chase is no longer part of the crew I do not believe as he has been ordered on more and more infiltration missions since then. I believe Morwen is still part of the crew. Master Sergeant Geddo has mysteriously dissappeared from the ship. I believe he returned to Tritern for some reason, although he did not tell me why."
Khalora sighed, "Its been hard times since the siege, but I'm glad you've decided to remain Maccenna. We need you here..."

Maccenna listened to Khalora as he spoke of Amory and Calypso. She wondered why Geddo had so mysrteriously disappeared and nodded when he talked of Chase. They had lost alot of people, though not all had succummed to death, and Geddo, she believed was still part of the crew- he was just gne somewhere and failed to tell the captain.
When he had finished, Maccenna stood up and gave Khalora his cup back, still full, which she had failed to drink." Thankyou for the drink," she said. She looked to the cabin door and back.
"Where else would I go?" she said in reply to his last comment. "My allegence is with you as far as I know. I signed up to serve you in your crew. Besides, I was made to live on the sea- not on the land."
She made a motion for the door that led onto deck. " Well, I suppose I should go out and help with the loading. What use am I if I just sit?" She smiled.
"Thankyou again. Do I have permission to leave?"

Alessio raised his eyebrows at the full cup. She seemed to have gained her breath back now, so it wasn't of vital importance in the slightest. "By your leave Lieutenant." He nodded his head at her and walked back over his desk and picked up a roll of parchment and a quill, dipping it in a small bowl of ink that had been sitting on the table since yesterday.
He wrote a letter to the new ruler of the pirates, fortelling of his arrival at Tritern. Even in allied states, it was best to give notice of one's arrivals. He walked over to the window sill and rolled the parchment up into a small tube and tied it to the foot of a Danartan carrier eagle sitting silently on its perch beside the glass.
Khalora opened up a small pouch and pulled out a bright skull-and-crossbones, holding it in front of the eagle's eyes. The bird was well trained, and it would know where to go as it spread it's wings and circled out of the cabin and out into the crisp air. Khalora closed the window behind it and walked back to the cabin door and out onto deck.
"How much longer do we have until the supplies are on!?" He called down to the loadmaster.
"Five minutes my liege! We will be able to make sail immediately after!" His voice carried rough and large across the ship and he raised his hat briefly to speak to the King before returning to his work.
Khalora nodded to himself, content with his response. Then they'd be off...

Maccenna ocked out of Khalora's cabin and back onto deck. She blinked her eyes as the dialated to the light of the sun and was lost amoung the fray of the working crew members.
OOC: Sure! Did you already start a post there? I'll wait for you to go first if not. and I know it is short but I don't know what to write!
