Cailen stopped in the arena, and pulled her hair back into a ponytail. Her armour was light, it consisted only of a leather chestpiece, leather leg and arm greaves. She stood at the far end, wathing the gate that Maccenna would enter. The girl had only one weapon, not including her bow, but she felt for sure the Maccenna's pride would not let her ask for another weapon. That was just as well with Cailen. She herself only one sword, because the tiger claws would only work with her sometimes. She still kept them on though. They wereuseful still in many ways.

Maccenna stepped into the arena from the opposite side. She could see Cailen watching her from where she stood. Not taking her eyes off Cailen, Maccenna pulled off her bow and put it to the side. It would not be useful during this battle and she could not afford it if it broke. She also through her coat to the side. It this battle it would only be a hindrance.
The young pirate rolled up her sleeves to where the leather straps that were clasped around the midsection of her upper arm prevented them from going up any further. Her hand went for the hilt of her sword but she did not pull it out as she approached Cailen, the dust in the area playing around her feet as each step sent a cloud of sandy material into the air.
At about three feet away from cailen Maccenna stopped.
"I may be young, but that doesn't mean I can't fight as well as you."

Cailen grinned. "Good, I'm looking for a good challange." She drew her sword and backed up a couple of feet, lifting it foreward and waiting for Maccenna to signal that she to, was ready to begin.
Her left hand was balled into a loose fist, the tiger claws protruding down a few inches. Her feet stood shoulder width apart, and every thing about her stance signaled that she was ready.

Maccenna's eyes flitted to Cailen's fist and then to her sword. The young pirate drew her own, her hand trying to regain the feel of it. She did not raise it as she looked coldly into Cailen's eyes.
"After you." she said. She got prepared to raise the sword to her defence, but as she did so, she secretly drew an arrow and hid it behind her back.

"Always the polite one I see..." Cailen smiled, the whipped her sword foreward, in and easy-to-defend slash move. She wanted to see just how good this pirate was boasting she was. She knew full well that Maccenna would block her first attack, but she hated making the first move, and saved the fancy stuff for later. OOC: Tis' ok, mine is short as well

Polite? Maccenna wanted to laugh. Was she truely acting polite now? If she had, she did not notice it herself. Her eyes shown with defiance as the sword came forward. It would have been just as easy to block, but being that swords were not generally light, Maccenna perfered to dodge the blow.
Was Cailin testing her? She knew there had to be more to the Arch angel.
Maccenna lept out in the middle of her dodge with an arrow that she would usually use with her bow and ,though aiming for a weaker and more sensitive spot, she seemed to had misjudged and now the arrow shaft went for Cailen's arm. Weather this would hurt her enough or even hurt her at all, Maccenna did not know. She grinded her teeth as the arrow shaft protruding from her left hand dashed forward.

Cailen saw Maccena coming, and countless battles had taught her to be ready for the unexpected. The girl was carrying an arrow in her hand. Cailen sidestepped and slashed down, aiming to cut the point of the arrow off with her bagh nakhs. Depending on how thick the wood was, it would either snap clean off, or her claws would get imbeded into the shaft, allowing her to tear it from Maccenna's grip. Either way, the arrow would not harm her.
OOC; I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep the arrow, so Ill let you decide...

The arrow Maccenna had clutched so tightly was wrenched from her hand as the bagh nochs of Cailen embedded themselfs in it lightly tinted wood. She felt the palm of her hand splinter and blister from the force at which Cailen had wrenched it from her, but biting her lip, she ignored it. Now she was at an adventage for now one set of Cailens "claws" were stubbed by the wood of her arrow shaft. Maccenna grabbed the arrow shaft and twisted it around. If she had done it correctly, either Cailens's arm would twist with it and thus most- likely break or sprian her wrist- or if she was wiser she would allow the claws to be wrenched from that hand, hoping the sudden realeasing ofthe claws would send Maccenna flying backward. But Maccenna was prepared. If this happened she would be ready to catch herself.

Cailen could not loose her claw, but saw no way of keeping it. She spun around, bringing the catches on the hilt of her sword onto Maccenna's blade trapping it. Now they were locked together, both of their arms useless. Cailen jumped up and kicked her legs foreward as hard as she could, aiming right between the lungs, were the wind would be knocked out of her aponent and hopefully send her to the ground, were Cailen could then wrench her claw free and slip her sword off.

Maccenna gasped as she felt the wind knocked out of her, however, she did not let go of the arrow shaft, determined to rip the 'claws' right off her opponent. The force of the blow could have sent Maccenna to the ground, but she held on tight and thus, used Cailens own strenth to stop her fall. Luckily the force of her apponent's attack had also loosened her blade from Cailen's. She yanked the blade up and tilted it slightly to the left as she spun herself. She hoped to accomplish more than one thing with this move.
She hoped that the butt of her sword when she pulled it from the notches in Cailen's blade would would hit the opponent square on the base of the jaw. IT had enough force to brake her own, but judging at Cailen's strength, if it hit, it would only send a discomfort and a little pain with a swollen bruise. As she spun, she aimed to wrench the arrow shaft from Cailen. This would also send her sownwards and to the right, where Maccennawas puuling on her sword and thus, bringging Cailen closer to more impact of her attack. If she succeeded in niether, Maccenna believed that at least she would have taken the claws on the left hand away and freed her sword.
She knew that being a fallen angel, Cailen was stronger than her, not to mention the fact that she also was seven years older and thus had seven years of experience gained, but Maccenna knew that her endurance could not last to long. While she was using less energy, Maccenna would beable to store the liitle strength she had against Cailen until the fallen angel had become tired enough, perhaps not the the point where she was weaker than Maccenna but to the point where Maccenna could inflict some real damage and perhaps end the fight. Being a theif and a pirate, Maccenna had great stamina and endurance. There were times where she would run for days on end in order to loose her persuers. There were times that she, amoung the crew of a ship braved a storm that lasted sometimes up to weaks. She may not have had experience over the Arch angel, nor stenght but she did have her determination, perseverence and endurance, and she knew that if she used them correctly, she would perhaps outlast Cailen, or beeter than nothing, they would end the fight in a draw.
Maccenna grinded her teeth as she spun and duck, it hurt her arms a bit, but hopefully the rewards that follow would be greater than the little amount of pain that ebbed at her.

Cailen quickly opened her fist, letting her claws slide of with the arrow. She was in the air from her kick, and nothing Maccenna could do could stop gravity. Cailen was almost on top of the pirate, and Cailen was falling, her legs still in front of her. She hit the ground with a thud, hopefully taking the pirate with her. Maccenna's blow with the but of her sword missed, because Cailen was now on the ground, but the flat end of her forearm crashed into Cailens mouth, splitting her bottom lip. She rolled to the left, and jumped up, making a dash for Maccenna's arrow, she grabbed it, and slipped her rings back on, and stabbed foreward with the arrowhead. She was behind Maccenna now, and if the stab found its mark, it would pierce her left shoulder.
Spitting blood from her mouth, she dashed foreward one step, bringing the arrow foreward, toward Maccenna's exposed back.

((OOC: Ummm.. hint. Back is not exposed. She has a leather Jerkin Geeze. And Megan... I just ought to let you know..The part with the arrow shaft is cosidered opowerplaying because it was still in Maccenna's posession and I never said she dropped it. Thus you are making up some of Maccenna's actions. I'll let you slide this time though...)))
Maccenna was outraged. She sprung to her feet as soon as she fell, dust sticking to her cloths which were wet with sweat. She was Angry now and fueled by such she was able to spin around before Cailen had a chance to peirce her shoulder blade. With her sword still in her right hand, Maccenna spung for the arrow with her left, but she was just a bit to slow and so it resulted in the aroslicing the skin across the lower half of the left arm. as blood leaked from it,Maccenna swung her blade towards Cailen with the flat edge and quickly, right when it could almost hit calien, she spun the other way. Because she had swung her sword one way and switched directions so abruptly she knew it would hard for her to miss. Cailen would have actually tried to leap one way to dodge the fake blow and she would have hit her on the other side, hopefully sending Cailent to the ground, and because she was armored and Maccenna was hitting her the the flat of the sword, she might just get alittle wind knocked out of her, hoefully it was enough. Maccenna wanted nothing more than to end the battle. Each thing that Cailen diid made her hate her more and though Maccenna never actually thought that Killing Cailen would be nice, she did wish that for some odd reason, Cailen was dead. Maccenna hated her arrogant and heated head. She probably would like nothing more than to never see her again...

OOC: Sorry about that, and just FYI, Cailen is not armored, she only has leather, just as you do. So your move really does send her down. Cailen fell for the feint, and the sword nocked into her, sending her to the ground. She slamed her hand down as she fell, taking the impact off of her internal organs and head (recognise the move Ashlee? ). Her hand throbbed, but it was worth it. She pushed her foot foreward, hoping to catch Maccenna's ankle and send her down as Cailen rose. The pirate was rapidly becoming very annoying. The girl had stamina though, she had to admit that. When Cailen rose, she switched her sword to the other hand. She was weaker with it, but now her other tiger claw was free. It was risky, but she was confident in her new sword arm. If Maccena did not fall, Cailen was ready. She came foreward with her sword, in a slash downward. Maccenna could block it, and Cailen knew this, so she jabbed her arm foreward to slice with her claws if her sword was blocked.

Maccanna felt something wrap around her ankle and just as soon as she felt Cailen's foot hook around it, she fell face first. As if by insticnt though, Maccenna curled into a ball and and rolled away from calien in a somersault. As she rolled though, she felt the 'claws tear across her back. If she was not so locked on with Cailen, then perhaps Maccenna would have felt the pain of it but as higher amounts of Adrenaline pumped into her all Maccenna thought of was Cailen. Later, she would regret her duel though as now her shirt was alredy torn and her only vest had five gashed trough it that sunk to the skin. Not only were they reuin with holes but they were also stained by rings of blood.. It would take her a wile to get new cloths for herself.
Maccenna quickly uncurled herself and swung her foot around so that the side of her body was faceing Cailen she rose, but kept her knees slightly bent and switched hersword to her left hand which was her stongest. Before she had not used it for she was consintrated on the arrow but now it was free. With sweat rolling down her forhead and her braind now completely loose Maccenna glared at Cailen.
She then swung her sword low, bringing it around to swing high, either Cailen would jump so that she m,issed the lower assault and get hit in the chest by the higher one, or she would dodge to the sideand miss both blows completely. Maccenna never though though that Cailen could possibly jump onto the the flat of the sword and trap her until it was too late. she desperately hoped Cailen would not do what she had just thought, but if she did, she would have to retrieve her arrow, now greatly slintered and gouged to defend her self, which most unfortunately, was right behind Cailen.
((OOC: Hey Meg... Lets go about six more posts and then end the battle. We can say that Maccenna lost this one... It looks like she will or at least she should and learn. That way she will have a better reason to hate Cailen and such. The next time they meet, we can have Maccenna win so that Cailen hates her more. Perhaps it would be good if Maccenna fought her is an actual battle and defeated her but did not Kill her and that is why Cailen will have somwe type of little death wish for Maccenna. From there, they can always be enemies and the battles after that we can have them meet and see how it unfolds from there. Good job on your fighting stuff by the way.))

Cailen smiled. This was just what she was waiting for. She backstepped and dodged the first slash, and as the top slash came down, Cailed brought her sword up, and used her hilt to catch Maccenna's sword at the peak of its momentum, and pulled with all her might downwards. Hopefully this would wrench Maccenna's sword free from her grasp. As she stepped backward, her foot brushed a length of wood. The arrow! Cailed smiled inwardly, and kicked it foreward, shooting it foreward on the ground toward Maccenna. With any luck, it would slide right between the pirate's legs and behind her, were she would have to turn around to fet it. OOC: Ok, that sounds good. And your doing pretty darn good yourself. Your pirate is a slippery one...
