(That's ok Swifty)
"Well, if your looking for random wonders, then that's certainly what I would call interesting." Dagwyn answered. He shot a glance over at the giant snake, which was the largest reptile he had ever seen. His hand reached for where his sword normally could be found, only that right now it was lying in a locked chest at the surface, together with his large coat. Still, it was only instinct and his hand quickly settled back to his pick. "Don't worry, I wont try and steal or use your discovery for my own good. I prefer making money the honest way." Dagwyn said and smiled, though it was a pretty big chance that the girl wouldn't believe him.
With that said, Dagwyn returned to where had had been hacking at the wall, minding his own business. If trouble appeared, he would be ready to give a helping hand. Always try and make friends. His mind trailed off to his friends again. He had been fond of them all, even Rana who didn't appear to like him much. Well, now they're gone, and I'll have to try and live on. Easier said than done.

Steven had now made a large enough hole in the wall for him to squeeze through, even with his limited flexibility. He grunted with the effort of fitting through the small hole and landed roughly on the other side. It was pitch black here, and all he could see a thin shaft of light comin through the hole from the single lantern. But he only had eyes for the shining blue stone in the middle of the cave, only a few steps away.
"This looks too man-made," he said to himself, looking back out of the hole. "I wonder if the basilisk was put down here for a reason... to protect something perhaps." He looked back at the stone, "...something."
He reached out a hand for it and the rock felt warm beneath his fingers. Now and then he felt a little flutter through his fingertips, almost like a heartbeat, but he knew that was just his old mind running away with him. He put both hands around the stone and lifted it off its perch, but as soon as he did, the stone's heat skyrocketed, and it seared the flesh off his fingers.
He yelled out in agony and dropped the stone, which landed with a loud, echoing bang. But it didn't shatter, not even a chip, it just rolled twice and settled on the ground. Salk fell backwards, cradling his fingertips in his armpits. The nerves and veins had all been quarterised, so it didn't bleed, and he couldn't feel anything. But he knew he'd never be able to use his fingers again.
"Blasted bloddy thing!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. The stone just shone as blue as before, as if nothing had happened. He took off his cloak and wrapped it around his hands, picking up the stone more carefully now, but clumsily with no fingertips left. The stone didn't burn him now. Maybe it only burnt on too much skin contact...

Nina jumped up at the sound of the man's curses. She watched the stone he had uncovered fall to the ground as he shook his hands and tried to soothe his fingers.
Nina couldn't help but stare down at the stone; it shone blue like the sky, instead of the emerald green shine that is usually found in these mines.
"Here, let me help you!" Nina said reaching toward the man. He had gone to retrieve the stone, but held it awkwardly. Apparently, he had injured his hands greatly. "What happened?" She asked as she placed a hand on the man’s arm.

Lyneya had still been standing at a part of the green wall when the old man had cried out in pain, walking in a slightly more lax way in comparison to the cynical woman, she saw the huge blue gem in his arms.
He held her arm out and pointed at it.
"You touched it didn't you?"
She laughed, but her laugh was completely without humour.
"I know what that is. . ." Her voice trailed off. She had heard about the stone in tales told by her mother, but she had never thought it actually existed, until now.

Dagwyn didn't get to hack long, the old man's scream intereupted him. Now what? Holding the pick ready as a weapon, he moved away from the wall and over to the group. The sound apparently came from a hole in the wall which hadn't been there before. Wait, where's the old man? If he's inside and having trouble, it is gonna be hard to get to him. Dagwyn was about to enter it when he saw the man, carrying a blue stone with his hands covered. He took two steps back to give some space, watching the whole thing with a thoughtful look.
Did he injure his hands? And if so, what caused the injury? Maybe the stone. But what kind of stone can hurt living creatures? One of the women helped tried to help the man, steadying him. "You touched it didn't you?" a voice said. He turned around to the voice, as the girl was now laughing, though it lacked humour or joy. "So..what exactly is it then?" he asked.

Steven held the stone in his welted fingers. The tips were seared completely off, bone and all, but at least the nerves were gone too, and only a dull throbbing remained. He could last for a while, at least long enough to get out of the cave and get to a surgeon.
Nina touched his arm and it brought him back to reality, in the dark cave with four other people in front of him and wall of emeralds behind him. He shook Nina's hand off. "I'll be fine, as soon as I get out of this hell-hole. Since when did you start caring about an old man like me?"
He sighed. "It must have been warmed by the basilisk's blood or something, or maybe in that cave the heat was amplified in time. Because it burnt my fingertips off." He didn't display his fingers to the onlookers, just let the fact fade away into the air.
"So what exactly is it?" asked the newcomer. And Salk answered, "I'll tell you what it is. It's mine, and it'll wager a fair coin at the expense of a rich patron. Now if you ladies will excuse me, I must take my leave. The emeralds are all yours..."
He made to walk back towards the entrance to the cavern, leaving his bag of emeralds behind. The blue was almost hynotic, and it rippled in the stone as if it were filled with water, but it was heavy and solid in his touch...

Lyneya stepped in front of the old man, she was taller than him and looked down on him.
"No." Lyneya said shortly, shaking her head, the ocean forgotten. "You can't sell that. You don't have a clue."
Lyneya stood in at an angle so that she could see all of the other drifters in the cave.
"That stone, it's not just a stone really, not just a sapphire or trinket. It's the Amethyst of Eternity. It's been in legends since the beginning of time, countless generations have searched for it. The odds that we've just stumbled across it. . . It's amazing. You said there was once a basilisk here? The legend states that the Amethyst is guarded by a terrible beast of shadow. It all makes sense."
Lyneya was looking back at the stone now. "This stone. . . it. . . it has powers, no one knows the full extent of them, but it is said that it grants a user power beyond any mortal knowledge. You just have to think, and think hard, and it should happen. But don't do it! I don't know how much damage it would cause."
Lyneya looked back up, talking more to Salk than the other Traders.
"We have to get rid of it."

Nina rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as the old man shook her off. "Well, excuse me for caring," she mumbled nonchalant as he began to walk away. His retreat was short-lived, however, as the previously-frantic woman stepped in front of him.
No, you can't sell that. You don't have a clue... What was she talking about? Nina opened her mouth to question the woman, but she continued explaining.
Legend, powers...
"The Amethyst of Eternity?" Nina asked skeptically, looking rather doubtful. She didn't believe in tales of magic and ancient power. She believes only in a man’s own strength. "You seem to know a lot," Nina stated suspiciously. "Get rid of it? Old Man might make a pretty penny off of it; and even more so if it's as powerful as you say, although I highly doubt that much."

"I was brought up around such legends." Lyenya said, every word dripping with icy acid. "My mother taught me tales I doubt you've ever heard of. There are a lot of things in this word that people will never understand but will always be there. People like you are in denial."
Lyneya shifted her position from one foot to the other.
"Money isn't everything." Lyneya said defensively, though she thought she was talking to brick walls on that subject. "Don't you understand what could happen if you let that stone loose?"

Steven shrugged the crazy woman off him and continued walking away to the opening in the cave, he spoke back to her over his shoulder as he went, "I'm a trader and a merchant woman, I know all the tales. And yes I've heard of such a stone once or twice in my years. But let me tell you just that, they're just tales. They all are. No myth has ever been proven. Why you people try to find more in life than what there is I will never understand. It explains why you people never get anywhere in life."
He stepped out of the hole, happy to be back in the light which made the stone glimmer even stronger, and was about to leave when he poked his head back through, "And why would I expect to believe you!? Not moments ago you ran in delusionally screaming about the ocean, which is a fair way from here I'll remind you. I found the stone, therefore it is mine woman! You have enough emeralds in front of you to retire early and happily, or maybe you'd prefer some salt water?"
He grinned at her as he turned and walked away, back up through the mines...

Dagger stayed quiet through the whole finding of the stone it just made it easier to slip out and follow the old man back in the shadows without anyone noticing. The one woman said it had powers, powers to make the user beyond any mortal. And the old man responded with that he was going to sell it, couldn't the old man see what he was holding did he need glasses he could become more powerful then the strongest man or something and he wanted to sell it he obviously did not think of the future and the treasures it will bring but having a stone like that would make things easier. She looked at the old man hands But how would she be able to steal and then hold the stone without it burning her hands like it did to the old man she slowly formed a plan she wanted that stone her eyes glinted as she stepped out of the hole and followed the old man walking back up through the mines. She smirk to herself she was once again stalking the old man in his shadow for his finds.

Salk exited the caves and breathed deeply in the crisp air, the sun shining off the grass lands which stretched between them and the Diamons City, just a glimmer in the distance. The rolling hills covered with a lush, green blanket across them was much more welcomed than the cold rocks of the mine.
Salk tested the weight of the stone for the twelth time and then started his hike down the side. There was quite a large cliff here and he stood on the edge, taking in the surroundings, thinking of what he should do now, planning the next week of his life out.
I should get away from here as quickly as possible. All the women in there have no honour, and they'll be searching for me tirelessly... he looked down at the object in his thickly covered hands, ...and the stone.
I'll head for Teer. The profits will be best there. He nodded inwardly, happy with his plan and turned back to the cave to make sure no one was following him...
...or to see who was.

Watched the others as they argued about the stone, some wanting money, others being more cautious. He gripped his pick tight, situations like this had occurred throughout history, often ending in bloodshed and pain. Greed was a foe not to be taken lightly, though the old man didn't seem to care about that. He said he was a trader, a business man, and he sure acted like one with an eye for profit. The man started walking away, leaving the women and himself behind. I don't have anything to do with this. If he wants to sell the stone, so be it. Though that girl seemed so sure that it was dangerous. As he was about to leave them too, he noticed that someone was missing, the women that he had spoken to first.
With that thought in mind he ran after the old man, exiting the mines and feeling the fresh air again. The trader was standing not far from the exit, and Dagwyn walked up to him. "This is none of my business, but I think you maybe want to remember what that girl said to you." He shifted his weight a little before continuing. "Meddling with items like that can lead to disaster, especially if it ends up in the possession of the wrong person. Others will try and take it from you. Just be careful. That's all I have to say." And with that done, he walked back into the mine.

Dagger Stepped out of the shadows as the man with the pick left back into the mines and smiled her dark red hair being blown in the wind as she stepped out of the cave "Surley you not going to listen to them are you" She said in a dangerous voice her pupils turning into slits "With that stone you can become powerful, why would you want to sell it or put it back" She said taking a few steps closer to the old man pulling out her whip "Why don't we make a deal you can ethier give me the stone willingly and you live or turn around and jump off the cliff and I go down and take the stone from you dead hands" Her eyes glinted "what is your choice?" she asked waiting for his reply.

"People like me?" Nina raised her eyebrows, "I understand more than you think, but I don't believe in fairy tales and magic," Nina stated matching the girl’s icy tone.
The old man ignored the woman's warnings and exited the cave. He was soon followed by the red-haired woman, and the other man. Nina couldn't help but roll her eyes.
That thing is going to cause problems just because no one knows what it is... She thought. Nina noticed that the blonde woman was still with her.
"So what will you do now?" Nina asked the girl after a brief silence. "Are you going to run after him and try to save the world from the destruction by means of a rock? The world is already destroying itself anyway; might as well give it a push. If it’s as powerful as you say, there’s not much you can do about it, is there?"
