Name: Lyneya Oceanheart
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Allegiance: Drifter
Race: Light Elf
Class: Healer
Weapons: Lyneya carries no physical weapon. She uses her mind.
Pet:
Inn:
Ship:
Wings:
Appearance: Lyneya is a tall, slender woman. She is considered attractive by some, but a lot think of her as the opposite. She has long wavy blonde hair that she always wears down and dark blue, almost ‘lilac’ eyes though they often take on a blue-green appearance depending on the light. She is very pale, despite the time she spends out in the sun she never manages to get the tan that most people get. She doesn’t even freckle, like other people with fair skin.
Lyneya is quite often found wearing her long white dress. This dress has a hood, but Lyneya doesn’t always wear it. She is also seen wearing a golden tiara that is made to look like the waves of the sea. It was a gift from her mother and Lyneya never parts from it.
Lyneya has elegance about her appearance. She has high cheekbones, thin and curving eyebrows and a long nose.
Personality: The most notable thing about Lyneya’s personality is that she is a loner. She has no friends whatsoever and doesn’t try to get any. Though life for her is lonely, she spends her time traveling around the many coastlines, never far from water. She isn't used to company and kind of shuns it. She is almost afraid of getting close to people anymore, making her distant and unconnected when she is talking to people.
Lyneya loves the water. Thirty years ago, the closest thing Lyneya ever had to a friend – her mother – sailed away in a white cruiser, when some people dressed in blue cloaks came for her. Lyneya’s mother promised to come back to her one day. To this point she hasn’t returned, but Lyneya often sits by the ocean waiting. She never knew her father.
Lyneya was forced to maturity at an early age and learned to live by herself. She never learnt any social skills and lost all of her childhood years.
Lyneya is a very quiet, reserved person who rarely travels into society. Her heart is full of longing to know people, to talk and to laugh but it never happens. Lyneya wants her mother back; she wants the childhood years that she never got. Lyneya often cries when staring out at the ocean, but never lets anyone see. Lyneya has no home, anywhere, the only place she feels comfortable is by the water. Further inland and Lyneya becomes phobic, sometimes erratic. Lyneya is phobic of inland areas and if she can't see or smell or feel the ocean nearby then she stresses and does everything in her power to return.
If there is one thing that Lyneya hates, it is ocean battles. She cannot stand the idea of her mother being killed in one and she believes it ‘litter of the ‘Blue Realm’. Lyneya is not a trader, she is a wanderer.
Other: Lyneya has some skills that she normally keeps ssecret. She has the skills to talk to the dead and to 'dream weave'. Lyneya fears the dead as she feels they carry treachery and fear and anger. She steers away from any graveyard she can.
Dream Weaving is a complex skill that Lyneya is still learning. The art of molding what one can dream while they are asleep is hard to do and is a powerful weapon once Lyneya can get it right.
Otherwise she is quite unapt at any close combat and long range fighting. As stated before, she has her own methods of warding people off, if she gets frightened or angry enough she can make images that can send the weak-minded insane.
Role-play Sample: Mother stood up slowing, letting go of the warm embrace that had been Lyneya’s world.
The Blue Men were here. Lyneya never saw their faces, they had long hoods, but she could see their lips. They were large and full, almost fat. But they themselves were thin, almost to the point of underweight. But Lyneya hardly noticed that.
One of the Blue Men walked towards Mother. Mother was beautiful, her skin was radiant and her hair was almost glowing. She was very tall, maybe she wasn’t actually that tall, but when Lyneya was six her Mother had seemed to tower over her. Her eyes were the same blue as Lyneya’s, but they were deeper. They were pools of wisdom and knowledge. Now they were pools of sorrow.
Lyneya stood up behind her mother as one of the Blue Men approached.
“It is time to go,” He said. His voice was husky yet sweet. His words were smooth and rounded. It was a strong voice with countless levels.
Mother nodded, her head shaking. She turned to Lyneya and crouched down to her level.
She blinked a few times, stopping any water from springing to her eyes. “I have to leave.” Mother said slowly. She searched desperately for words and her eyes looked away from Lyneya as water began to appear. “I’m…I’m sorry.” Mother got up and walked out of the room with her hand over her eyes. Lyneya could hear her whimpering, even though she tried to muffle them.
The Blue Men followed her out of the room. Lyneya was left standing alone for a moment in confused silence before she ran out of the door of the inn and down towards the shoreline. There was a thick fog covering the land and
Mother was just boarding a white ship with the Blue Men either side of her.
“Mother!” Lyneya screamed, running down the docks.
Mother turned around. “No, Lyneya, go back!”
Lyneya didn’t turn back; she kept running down the dock. Her heart was pounding and her eyes were full of tears.
Lyneya had just reached the ship when it left the docks. Lyneya wailed in helplessness as her Mother began to leave her life.
“Mother!” Lyneya screamed through the stream of tears running down her pale cheeks. The ship was almost shrouded in fog but Lyneya could see her Mother standing, looking at her. She was crying too.
“I will return to you, Lyneya, I promise.”
Then Lyneya was left on the docks crying on the docks. The fog was covering her and the cold was stinging her now wet face. Her body convulsed as the endless stream of tears continued. She was alone. Her only friend was gone, her Mother was gone. She was alone.
A Storm is Coming.
