A Curious Visit

"I climb trees to do my Job. After every shot I have to run to yet another tree, so if they spot me I'll be up a tree in seconds." Zurth smiled at the small human who was barely up this tree. "Why do you ask? You have many questions for me, but i have no idea what you do as an Ice Warrior."

Rhaxma looked up at Zurth curiously, and decided that it would be in her best interest if she did not try to venture up to the branch he was currently sitting on. She tightened her grip and looked at the ground lightly. She replied, "I am rather curious of Fallen Angels, I've never actually met one before, and I've only ever heard rumors about them... so, obviously I would be a little curious." She smiled at him warmly. "And us, the Ice Warriors? Well... we're different. We live in houses, or huts, and roam through the Ice Kingdom freely. I, personally, love taking walks and we really do enjoy ice skating, if you have ever heard of it. A lot of us are warriors, we enjoy fighting... quite a bit." She gave him a questionable look. "Is there anything else?"

"Your personal interests do not please me. You ice warriors are easy to hit in battle. You stand out in the trees, and you give no caution when walking. You guys are careless. You fight with your gut and not your brain." Zurth jumped down from the tip of the tree looking away from Rhaxma.

Her smile quickly faded at his words. Not only was she deeply offended, she was angry as well: Who was he to say that of the Ice Warriors? She knew what she could have said in return, but that would have caused such anger to erupt from him, it was unnecessary after the recent treaty between the two armies. She didn't know what had suddenly overcome him, and yet, she didn't care either: that was crossing the line. She didn't look at him, he did not deserve even a glance, as she jumped off the tree and leaned down to pick up her mace. She stared at it for a few moments, knowing very well that she was not allowed to use it as a weapon against a Fallen Angel. She attached the sling and slung it across her body. She took a step away from the tree. Again, she didn't look at him when she said, "Sometimes logic can get in the way of judgement. It was nice meeting you, Zurth, but I know when my company is unwelcome." Without another word, she walked away, not once turning back or changing her emotionless expression on her face. She regretted not telling him that it was her army that had overthrown the Fallen Angels, but she was already on her way out of the Ice Forest.

Zurth walked slowly away not turning. He know he had offended the Ice Warrior. He didn't know why the Ice Warriors had made a treaty with the Fallen Angel's. Maybe the Ice Warriors need something of the Fallen Angel. Accuracy? Maybe even more soldiers. Zurth jumped up into his tree, and continued to think about this topic.
