I've always fought for what I believed in... but the way I do things is not always morally right in the eyes of society Nina laughed inwardly. Morwen's latest inquiry caught Nina off guard.
"I've always found that an odd question," Nina said, rising her eyebrows. "I was born here, in Danarta - Sanara specifically. Lived in this jungle for a few years, and just recently I've been circulating through the whole of Lilan. Who knows where I'll be from next." Nina said almost sarcastically.
"But where am I from, really from?" She questioned. "That just depends on who you ask. I'm molded from a life bound by fate; I'm from a past of love, hate, betrayal, sorrow, and revenge; and from a world built upon lust and has known nothing but war and power. I'm from everywhere in a sense. Aren’t we all? We're just not from the same everywhere." Nina smiled.

Morwen was speechless. Nina took a simple question and made it into something to think about. She used her words wisely, createing them on her own. Morwen always had to look at something for her voice, something like the beautiful scenery around them. Her voice came from the lands. Was that weird? Or is that how everyone else got their words?
Morwen nodded. Just nodded. Birds chirped. The wind blew. But Morwen never got any words. She felt mute. Nothing she could say could compare to what Nina could say in a sentence. Even the birds had more of a voice than Morwen. They sang and sang. Their simple tune said so much. Words could do that, when they're formed simply.
Morwen stood up and looked around. She didn't feel awkward being speechless now. Basil's eyes filled to the rim with curiosity. She cocked her head at her friend's silence and she jumped onto Morwen's shoulder.
"Need to be anywhere?" she finally said. Did it even make sense? The words following cleared it up. "'Cause I don't. And I need to take a walk if you want to join me," she said. Her eyes stood like the rest of her body, blank. A cold chill rushed through Morwen's body. The light.. felt cold.. Something shared its presence with them. But it wasn't alive with a beating heart. It was alive in its own way.. What was it?

Nina thought for a moment. Did she really need to be anywhere? After a few seconds, she replied, "The only place I need to be is away from here. I was heading for Racana Port, in fact, to do just that.” It was either the Pirate fort, or a Southern Port in which Nina would leave Danarta; and the last place Nina wanted to be seen was a Southerner's fort. rather take her chances with a band of Pirates.
"We're not too far from it, perhaps a few miles or so. If you need a walk, you can head up that way with me; then I fear I will have to bid you goodbye." Nina offered. The trek through the remainder of the forest would be less depressing with someone to keep her mind off why she was leaving Danarta, and shove away the memories that resided within the wood. Morwen smiled and nodded. "Yeah, no one can be with one another for eternity," she said, familiar faces she once knew boiling up in her mind. If only they could all meet each other in the same realm once again...
"Then to Racana i'tis," she said, and she carefully picked her way through a through rocks that climbed from the earth's soil. She only took a few steps, to give Nina the time she might need to depart this land. Something told Morwen that even though Nina wanted dearly to see antoehr land, this one would be hard to part with. Looking back over her shoulders to the towering mountains, Morwen understood how it might be hard to leave. One glimpse back to the beautiful scenery and Morwen felt it hard to leave herself.
A purple coating hung around the air, brushing lightly against the very light fog that clung safely to the mountain side. The sun, as soft as butter, parted through the colors and added its own. It bathed the lands in a golden color and then changed into a light yellow once it fell upon the towering mountains, the protectors of this land. Birds began to hike over the mountain air once again. Their muffled song washed over the open plain. The light whites of what was probably snow, lay strewn over the mountains. A soft powdered sugar on a pancake.
Morwen couldn't peel her eyes away. It was... just beauty that created this side of the earth. The pirate's eyes were coated with a glassy cloak. Her jades shimmered as they took in the provided light and colors. Her face loosened, all the tense muscles retreaving back inside her skin. It was quiet. Only the words of the world hung in the air, save for the one Morwen had just spoken.

Nina nodded her head with a look of satisfaction in her eye. So she would have company for the next few miles. Nina only hoped she would not bring trouble to her new acquaintance.
She picked her sword up from its resting spot upon the ground and re-tied it to her waist. As she got up to walk toward Morwen, who was waiting on her, Nina paused. Her eyes were drawn to a nearby tree. The bark on it seemed to be healing from some past assault. Subconsciously, Nina's hand touched her sword affectionately, and then pulled away suddenly when she realized what she was doing.
"Of all the places I've been, all the time I've spent elsewhere, I think the woods are the closest thing to something I can call home," Nina looked toward Morwen. "My favorite memories exist here, save one," she finished as she tore her eyes away from the tree. She made her way over the terrain to meet Morwen as they started north.

ooc: hehe, you called her Kirsten, but it's fine =D BIC: Morwen missed Nina's whole connection between her undying memories of the past. One's past could never be forgotten, but there's always room for it to be assuaged. Memories and emotions could heal over just as the marked tree would, accompanied by help from the sun, the rain, the soil. No one could survive on their own and cure their quandaries by their own mind. An aid's presence must be clarified as another soul before an antidote can be reached.
Sun caught Morwen's eyes as an isolated beam tore through the trees. The pirate blinked as the light caught her off guard. Morwen turned back around from her surfacing thoughts and just kept silent.
Save one.
Nina's one thought could be easily concluded. In this world they lived in today, it was usually violence that produced such unforgettable memories that haunted a soul for life, and maybe even after their life upon the earth. Morwen would have pressed on with the matter to know if it was a death that weighed upon her heart right now, but she knew better and acknowledged the tone in Nina's voice. The poor woman's soul probably felt as if it was stolen away every time she mentioned or thought about whatever tragedy that had occurred.
Or should Morwen try to accompany her in her pain; try to relate to whatever had happened?
She decided against it as her feet never stopped. If Nina wanted to continue with whatever it was, she would carry it's weight longer. But Morwen would think not of her as a coward to tuck away the emotion back inside herself. The pirate understood that it was no sign of weakness to feel fear, pain, or discomfort. She has been there.
Oh yes.
Everyone in the world meets a time in their life that can never be prevented. Everyone knows from the second they are born that life can't last forever. Nothing does. Save for one.
Love.
Was it love that brought up this topic in the first place? Was it love that drove Nina to walk through this forest and reminisce? Most likely. But again, Morwen didn't want to find out unless Nina purposely wants her to.
Still slowly walking, Morwen hung her head once her thoughts let up, feigning herself to be back in deep thought. She didn't want to make it seem awkward that Nina had brought it up, but she did it in such a fashion to now look as if she was searching for what to say.
Hell, she knew what to say, but maybe words weren't appropriate for this time. Sometimes another language must be spoken. The question was, which language?

[[ I did not! *scrolls back up to look* *gasp* I fixed it! XD ]]
Funny how a single tree could bring up so many memories. Like clockwork driving her backwards, her life seemed to flash before her eyes. She found herself again in her childhood, and getting into trouble with Vance. Their life together seemed so long ago, and so very short. Their love, their engagement, the war, his death, her accusal, and her flight from Sanara to this very jungle.
The old monk Shonari, a deserter, her trainer, and only friend since the death of Vance had found her two days after she reached Alante. He was willing to train a woman in the art of swordsmanship, for she, Nina, had a purpose and a destiny. She had a death to avenge. It was easy during her training to forget Shonari was old, and his death (though it should have not surprised her) devastated her. That stupid tree paid the price.
Although Nina's memories were sad, instead of bring up the pain and anguish, Nina felt a slight humor toward the tree, and toward Morwen who looked as if she was searching for the right words of comfort to say.
The silence was eerie. Nina could hear her and Morwen's heavy footsteps treaded over the forest floor. They echoed around the thick wall of trees, and threatened to drive Nina insane, even through her own tumbling thoughts.
Nina tucked her memories in the back of her mind. It was best that she put them away. Old news, unimportant, insignificant to anyone except herself.
"I don't think I ever asked," Nina said, rupturing the silence, "where are you from young Morwen? Always been a pirate?"

ooc: xD Don't worry, my name always gets included in an RP BIC: Morwen looked back and smiled, evening her steps with Nina's. The tension had passed and Nina didn't want to bring up her past. "Born a Pirate always a pirate,' she said, a hint of honor in her voice. She now wore a beaming smile. And for a moment, it felt she would wear that smile through out the rest of her life, and maybe even past that.
"My family, as long as the records go, have been pirates. Although, I don't know much about them, or my background." Morwen shrugged off her families past and continued. "I've been upon ships most of my life, but it seems I'm not bound to one to this day. I dunno where I was born, but it was probably just a quick birth where everyone shrugged at me and continued their day. Nothing special nor ever shall I be," she said, and somehow still had a smile on her face. Morwen was okay with not being an illustrious knight world wide or a cut throat pirate feared by all. Morwen was Morwen, nothing more, nothing less-
A shrieking chirp rang through the forest, birds flying for cover. Morwen spun around to face-
She sighed, her heart beating fast. Her eyes met with a pair of innocent black ones. Basil stared right back at her, calling for attention. The pirate had forgotten all about her companion and laughed. "Come here flea bag," she said, lifting an elbow to indicate her shoulder was free for a monkey. Basil leaped up and parked her butt on Morwen's shoulder, content she was finally spoken to. The girl rolled her eyes and looked back to Nina. She was so.. mysterious, she thought, thinking back to everything she had said.
The same scenery passed by; fallen logs, decaying leaves, over-grown and healthy plants, hanging vines, falling needles, and random creature burrows. The crunch crunch underneath their feet was barking for attention, but there was no one out in the Jungle to care. Even if they were ambushed, Morwen was sure they were well trained enough.
The soft trickle of water was near by. The smell was welcoming to Morwen's nose, but she had her own skin of water. Morwen grabbed for her canteen underneath her vest and unscrewed the cap. She tilted back her head and it's contents poured out.
Water sprayed everyone as Morwen flung her head forward. "Uh! That's horrible-," the rest of her words were mumbled under her breath as she wiped herself off.

"Everyone's brith is special, and has some meaning, for every person in this world has a destiny they are bound to. You will find it, i'm sure --" Nina's words were cut off by a loud chirp that signaled the forgotten monkey.
She locked eyes with Morwen in her thoughts, and finished her previous statement. "Perhaps you already have and do not know it." Nina let her statement hang in the air as the scenery before them repeated itself over and over again. She did notice, however, that the trees had begun to thin. She and Morwen would see the gates of Racana soon.
Water landed on Nina as Morwen refreashed herself. She couldn't help but laughed as Morwen cried out in disgust. Wiping the spray of water off her own face, she questioned, "Horrible water?"
[[I apologize for the very slow reply. Don't wanna get into why, but I am sorry ]]

[[it's okay, I'm glad to see at least someone in this ghost town! Good to see ya And I've been lagging too]] Morwen smiled and nodded. She looked forward and noticed what Nina had seen. They were soon arrive at the gates where, sadly, their small journey with each other would have to draw to an end, as everything else in this world does. Everything ends in appearance, but it's presence and memories remain living, forever. The pirate, still smiling, continued. "As soon as you leave to live your life, I guess we won't see each other again. With this war, and seperation, chaos is drawing to a settle. I'm surprised, but this war is actually mellowing. I don't know what to expect anymore..." Morwen looked up to the tree tops and continued, "But maybe the gods have plans for us to run into each other, maybe when peace, if ever, is carried out." Morwen was sort of starting a fairy tale. She knew peace would never be reached and the chance of them seeing each other again was slim. Wasn't that the only thing that would get anyone through life? fairy tails, hopes and dreams? With this small grasp of hope, that Morwen could pretend to believe, and maybe Nina would do the same, she would have something to look forward to and to live for. Always.
