Equipment for your troops, yeah... I mean, khalora already has some guards of his own, simply because hes a King, but somebody like Chase could use some pirate spy troops to lead around, and he'd need them to have the best equipment they could get. ;D
Khalora isn't really saying anything arrogant in my opinion. I'm trying to talk to Poker like an equal so that respect can build up between them. And you have to keep in mind that Alessio was brought up in a world where Pirates were always the enemy. It would be a hard concept for him to grasp as well, but he's trying his best. Also, the Southerners are only in Pirate territory to help strengthen their forts and bolster their armies... wouldn't that be considered a good thing?

lol, well, like Poker said... he's young and his mind is still wrapped around the idea, and he's having more trouble adapting to it... It's a huge difference in maturity level between the two characters. Maturity in a certain sense, that is... But, either way... I don't think Alessio's being arrogant, but... I guess Poker's character would think so.

Nothing Alessio can say will change Poker's mind... but actions that Alessio does can...
He will soon garner some hope and trust... I hope ;D

It was arrogance in the words:
Telling Poker what he should be thinking about the whole thing could be considered quite arrogant. Their characters are too different, I can see countless conflicts arising from them.

Hmm... well, maybe conflicts will arise in the future, but I think that Alessio would just avoid Poker for the above stated reasons.
Alessio wasn't trying to be arrogant in those words, Poker just took them as arrogance, hence the underlying problem here...
