Khalora would want it out of his need for power for his people, much similar to Ice's needs. (You know, they're very similar people when you strip away the races and the hatred)
Chase would want it just out of curiosity if nothing else.
Lorian would start dribbling over the power and her lust for it would be nothing short of ramapaging.
Salk has it... and wants a profit out of it

Well, I suppose that Henry and Geddo could easily meet somewhere while they are searching. I'm not sure if you want Henry to die yet, but its completely up to you...

It can start very soon. The stone has been found. The moment somebody returns to town, the word will spread, and the campaign shall begin I guess.
Even if none of the people want to tell anyone, they won't be able to stop some random person seeing the stone, and suspicision will arouse in them, they'll tell someone who will tell someone else who knows something about the legend, and all hell will break lose after that...
