Alessio threw open the large bronze door at the side of the hall and walked up to the large golden chair that was his throne. It sat tall and silently and was the eyepiece of the already ornate room. He sighed, but not like he usually did when he came back here. Usually he grew weary of his duties, and it pained him that he'd have to go to war soon, especially if Calypso didn't return from Elina soon.
He ran his hand down along the arm of the massive chair. It was cold and hard, but it was his.
Where was that captain? He had summoned Nicholas to him, he should've been there at any moment now...

Nicholas walked in, his black wild hair fell over his dark eyes. He had his sword strapped to his waist. And he was wearing a white cotten shirt, tan breeches, and doe skin boots. "You wanted me, sir?" He asked, turning his face up to his King. There was a little sadness in Nick's eyes, he missed his sister, and he worried about her, and he constantly had to stop himself from going after her to make sure she was ok.

Alessio turned around to face the captain. "Ah, Nicholas, there you are." Alessio walked down the stairs towards him. "Its good to see you again. I hear that you've been out fighting some Lilan Navy soldiers in the tournament grounds." He smiled at him, "Good job."
He walked over to a large document, bidding Nicholas to follow, before he continued, "I am sorry to say that one of our flagships has been attacked on their travels to Racana. From the reports I can attain, a Lilan battleship attacked them. They didn't stand a chance."
He paused for effect before continuing, flipping through a few pages of the massive book on the table. It was very old and musty. "Aboard that ship was Fleet Commander Richards. I'm ashamed to say that he did not survive."
He reached the page he was looking for, it had hundreds of signatures on it, in an order down the page with details about ships and troop movements beside them in various handwritings. "Thats where you come in, Nicholas. I'd like you to be present at his funeral, because you will be taking over his position. Fleet Commander." Alessio handed him a quill so that he could add his signature to the hundreds on the page...

Nicholas signed it with a flourish and a nod to his lord. "Every southern soldier loss is horrid." he said mournfully, his sad eyes dark and brooding.

"Hopefully you may be able to diminish those losses Commander," Alessio nodded at the signature, satisfied, and he closed the book and set in back on the table.
"Please forgive my hospitality Nicholas, but I have a lot to get done. And I would guess that you would have a lot to do now as well. If you need me, you know where to find me. You are dismissed."
Alessio took a pace backwards and walked back into the side room where his advisors were waiting for him...

"Everyone knows where to find you." He muttered, with a role of his eyes in a mock of Calypso's treatment of their King. "Good bye, m'lord." He said, bowed, and walked away.
