The night carried on as Morwen's boot slapped the road of Diamond City. Everyone was still asleep in their beds or on the floor, but she had to be careful. The townspeople usually got up at dawn to start woking with whatever goods they produce.
The enviroment was dead silent. Morwen was surprised not even the crickets were chirping. Her gaze was lowered to concentrate on her silent boots. The black color was hidden n the darkness as well as her clothes. The brown cloth she wore would be difficult to see in a night like this. However, the moon's light was powerful, striking down on her back, as if it were thinking it was the sun.
Morwen brought up her head to scan the path she tread on. After coming from the Inn, Morwen had followed the path down the hill the building stood upon. The winded path lead her back to he heart of the city. As Morwen reached the Main centre of the City, she flew back to the shadows of the cottages and shops.
Her blue eyes dashed to a motion in the shadows across the road. She squijted and slumped down to a crouch. A small black paw entered into the dull light. The paw was followed by the body of a cat and Morwen sighed in relief. If it had been a towns person, their reaction wuold have lead her straight to the prison.
The cat mewed and ran off into the shadows of another cottage. Morwen still stared out of the shadows and to the spot where the cat was last seen. She pushed her back even closer to the wall behind her, just to be sure.
The moon's glow reflected off of Morwen's blue eyes as she leaned her head forward. Her bpdies outline would have been visable now, but Morwen was sure no one was there. She stepped out of what little darkness there was and continued down the road. he scent of a candles flame entered her nose. Her eyebrows lowered closer to her eyes as she walked on. She was curious to see who owned the candle. There had to be an open window somewhere. Morwen smiled. Opn windows meant stealing could take place. She knew she shuoldn't be stealing at a time like this, but she would be proud after she had the treasures of someone else's.
Her feet brought her to another cottage with a straw roof atop. The walls were rough, like all the others. A dim light peeked through a window that Morwen was happy to see open. Her body lowered to the ground as she sank beneath the window. Blue eyes peeked inside as her head rose to the corner of the window. A man had his back to her and sat at the opposite end of the room at a desk. She was getting luckier every second.
Morwen's eyes came across small vases that look as if they were hand made. Her eyes shown as the vases did, their smooth texture bringing out more color. "Woah," She spoke softly. She smiled and set her hand lightly on the window sill. She slowly brought her leg over the wall and she sat for a second in the window. The man was painted another vase! When does this guy wake up to do all this?
As Morwen sat in awe at teh items, her thoughts got carried away with her. She was still thinking when she realized the man was turning around! Her gaze mat his gaze for a moment and then left as she fell. She lost her balance, arms wavering in the air. Bone hit earth as her head came down upon the solid ground. Again, she was lucky not to hit the stone path.
Morwen rolled to the shadows underneath the window, but she knew she was a gonner. Her heavy breathing would give away her hiding-place as well. She closed her eyes trightly. Her blue eyes were revealed again as her eyelids opened. The man grabbed her by the shoulder and lifted her to her feet with amazing strength. His soft voice spoke up, "Please, come inside."
She was stunned. He was blind. He wouldn't be able to tell if she was a pirate if it would save his life. What struck her even more, is that he wanted her to come in! She shook her head and leaped inside. She didn't want to let him know she was a thief but couldn't resist the question, "'Scuse me, but why do you let me in when you could have yelled? I would have been brought to jail." She stared, puzzled.
"I can tell by your voice you are young. Why would you bring yuorself the fate of prison when you have yet a life to live?" Morwen stood, not sure what to say. She had never thought of her life like that before.
"Uh... I do it for what I believe in. I steal to live. It's common for many people to steal." She wasn't afraid to say she was stealing, for she already knew he knew.
If his eyes worked, he would have been staring into her eyes. But the foggy colors looked as if he were staring into her soul.
The sound of armor echoed off the walls. They entered the window, bouncing around inside as well. She turned her gaze to the window and back to him. He must have known this by the silence that followed the sounds. "Go. Go on, child and please don't return with your thiefery. Come back when you have changed," he whispered, stepping to his desk again to keep working.
Morwen was stunned again. I could never change myself. I won't take orders from this man. But he was kind to not give me away. She stopped her thoughts there and fled to the window again. "Thanks," she said, hoping her had heard her. She slipped into the shadows and rounded the cottage as the sounds of metal came closer...
ooc- I can't think of anything axciting to happen! It crossd my mind to have her go to prison... but idk
