Alaria walked down the road, her padded boots kicking up small tufts of sand behind her. A longe thin sword hung from her hip in its sheath and as she walked, it bounced against her. Her long blonde hair hung in a braid that came around to fall over her right shoudler. Today, a thin wirey tiara type disc encircled her head, the pearl drop in its center shining in the sun. The wire twisted like ivy around the gem.
Of course, being from the north, she was sweating a tiny bit, as she was no longer in the icey region. The long emerald dress that she was wearing today ruffled around her legs and looked like rippling water because the silk was so fine. You may think that this woman was the picture of beauty, of divine essence, or that she was perfect in all ways.
To be honest, she isn't. She is too tall for her age. And a long wirey scar runs from her left eye to her left collarbone. It starts from where her eyebrow is and runs down. Her eyebrow is now white because of that. And her left eye is by far not blind, it sees just fine. But not many people know that, and most of her enemies try to sneak up on her from that side, but nobody can get close enough to attack.
Stopping before an inn, she jingled a small purse underneath her sheath. A few coins clinked in it, and she smiled softly. Walking through its doors, she stopped inside to glance around and see what the place looked like. Honestly, it was nothing like the inns up north, but the place was beautiful. Alaria isn't a commoner here, and she has rarely left her homelands. Not knowing what to do, she stood there with a blank stare, trying to see what everyone else was doing, to get a good idea of what to do herself.

Cailen looked up as the girl entered the establishment, a look of total confusion gracing her face. Cailen smiled inwardly, knowing that look, but her face remained blank in reality. She kept a cool composure the majority of times, and other than her temper, she was fairly amiable. She glanced in the direction of the girl, catching her eyes for the briefest of seconds, sending a nonverbal invitation for the girl to join her table. She was curious to see what and Ice Warrior was doing so far from home, and she was sure that seeing a white wing would make her feel more at ease.
Her table was situated as far away from the fire as possible, and the window she was next to was opened upon her request. The cool air felt good as it caressed her face. She had a cup of ice water in front of her, because she found ale to be a vulgar drink, and the wine here was terrible. So she made do with the water, which was not as good as melted snow, but it would suffice.

Alaria could have jumped for joy when she saw a white wing, but as a Warrior, she was disciplined with composure. With a slight nod of the head, she made her way over to the white wing. The window was cracked open -thank goodness- and she sat just perfect so that it hit her to cool her down. This weird heat was obnoxious.
Water please, she said as a weathered woman came to the table. She wobbled off and Alaria looked at the white wing. With a straight back, she thought of what to say. It must be odd seeing an Ice Warrior down south from her home.
Im just passing through. Thank goodness you were kind enough to invite me over, otherwise I surely would still be standing there, looking rather stupid. A small wry smile passed her features, and she picked up the metal cup that was just set down in front of her. With a small sniff, she smelt the water to see if it was poisoned. You can never be to sure. Alaria had many enemies out there, and they wouldn't pass up the chance to kill off an Ice Warrior.
Why are you here White Wing, if you dont mind my asking?

Cailen nodded as the warrior sat down. Though the girl did not show any outward emotion, a sence of relief seemed to effervesce from her very being. Cooly, and with an even tone, she replied, "I could ask you the very same question, Warrior. But because I have no confidentiality in my mission, I will indulge you. I am simply here to blend. I wish to note the passings of a certain person that I am very...interested in. I'm Cailen by the way, Empress of the Fallen Angels." Her eyes were kept strait on the warrior, and not once did her piercing gaze linger. Many people cowered under a stare like that, but it was very unlikly that this highy trained warrior would. Besides, she had no reason to feel threatened by Cailen. Her people were allies.
She wondered if this girl was part of Ice's army yet, and if she was on some type of mission for him. If she was, maybe Cailen could help her. Her taget was no longer here, so she had several free hours to kill, and so far, nothing had any interest to her here. It was too hot, too muggy, and too crowded. Her heart longed for the cool, dry breezes of her beloved ice forest.

Alaria smirked a tad bit as Cailen's piercing stare cut into her own eyes. She threw one back at the White Wing, but not as a challenge, just to let her know she could take it. Shifting in her seat to get a better piece of breeze, she tilted her head a little.
Im here on my own, to scope out the people here. Im not here for Ice, I have yet to meet with him. But, if you want to be of assistance, I could use a meeting with him. I wish to join his personal ranks, to fight for him and alongside him. Could you be of help?
Taking a sip of water, she crossed her legs and fingered the edge on the waist. If need be, she could easily rip the fabric from the edge and be in breeches instantly. It was that type of design that had saved her life many a times. It would sew back on and look like nothing even happened.
Nice to meet you Cailen. Im Alaria. As you have noticed, Im an Ice Warrior. With a slight incline of her head, she bowed in respect to the Empress. Never in her life had Alaria thought that she would meet the Empress. Rumor has it that her and Ice were close, so maybe she really could get her an audience.

Cailen was pleased with theway the warrior had met her gaze, and was very satisfied with the repect that she showed her. That was a good sign that the alliance was still good. An alliance would do nothing if the subjects in question did not agree with it.
"Ice is probably preparing his ship, he leaves in a week to go after an item of value. My warriors and I will be traveling with him on his ship, seeing as we have no navy to speak of, not even a rowboat. we are creatures of air, not water. But, we will support him and if that means we travel by ship, then so be it. I am leaving tomorrow to go back to the Ice forest, you are welcome to join me. You can request an auiance when we get there. I am sure he will be willing to see you. He is always looking for ways to improve his armies, and recruiting more warriors is one way of doing it."
She lifted her glass of water and took a long drink from it, draining the rest. Almost instantly, the wrinkled old lady was by her side, filling it back up again. She also topped off Alaria's drink, even though it was not empty. Cailen did not even glance at the lady, let alone saying thak you. The woman would get her thanks in tip.

Alaria was glad that the wrinkled old lady had refilled her glass. It was half full, and she was about to drain it before she came. Cailen had offered to let her travel with her, to meet Ice. And this item of value, well, she knew what it was about. It was all over the forest. Ice wanted that gem. But nobody knew when he would fo for it. Drinking half of the water in her glass, Alaria looked out the window.
Sampson wasn't with her right now. He was off by himself, just roaming. He wouldn't be back for a while. But he would be fine. Tearing her eyes away from the large white peaks that were just barely visable over the horizon, Alaria looked to Cailen. Again a slight inclination came from her head showing respect.
Thank you M'Lady Cailen. That would be an honor. I wish to have this audience with Ice, so that I may join his ranks.

Cailen nodded, and took another long gulp from her water. Her legs were starting to become numb from lack of use, so she stood up. This would probably surprise Alaria, considering Cailen's very short stature, most people expected leaders to be very tall and regal looking. Height had always been an issue for Cailen, and she made sure that anybody who underestimated her was put in their place. She never let her size hinder her.
As the chair pushed back, and the blood rushed back into her legs, Cailen returned her gaze to Alaria. "Well then. We shall leave at dawn tomorrow. Breakfast on the road. We have a ways to travel, so I will be moving quickly, and you will have to keep up. Okay?" She was speaking with a slight forse, indicating her no-noncense style of travel. She moved exceptionally quick on the road, especially in the widerness, where most of their journy would take place. "Will you be rooming here for the night?" She added.

Alaria grinned. This White Wing was brisk. And very much to the point. Standing with her, she looked into her eyes again, a flat look coming over her face.
I assume that I will be boarding here, yes. And don't worry about me keeping up, as I have traveled the road many a times and am not afraid of it. Breakfast on the road sounds great. With very quick movements, she pulled some money from her purse and laid it down on the table top. The money clinked on it, and a few people looked over. Seeing Alaria's strong gaze, they quickly returned to their business.
I've got the tip. Though her face stayed striaght, her eyes were laughing. This would be a wonderful trip. Not only would she be returning home, but she would be traveling with a friend, and get an audience with Ice! Hopefully her King would be willing to grant her the audience.

Cailen realized just then how valuable her alliance with Ice had been. To have hundreds of warriors like Alaria fighting beside her would be a very beneficial thing. And if this was the manerism of one who had not yet joined the ranks, she could only imagine what amazing things these warriors could do. Combined with the deadly arrows of her people, and the cool close-combat style of the Ice Warriors, the Southerners and Pirates stood no chance. The jewel would be theirs.
"Very well, dawn it is. Thanks for picking up the tab. I will see you in a few hours." She turned then and walked up the rickety stairs, her feet making soft thumping noises as her soft soled shoes hit the planks. She was excited for the morning, and her feet ached for travel. It would be good to have some company this time, especially if Alaria was as good a traveler as she said.

OOC: Lets just pretend they did, traveling may be kind of confusing. But we can post their departure seeing as this thread seems too short to end. If you want to...
