It would be like the glaives. They are used in the art of spinning in deadly and viciously fast arcs, designed so that enemies will not even get close enough to strike with a sword or other close quarter weapon.

Note that you cannot spin forever, and medieval tactics involved soldiers being in tight formations so they had some defense against arrows. You would not be able to spin, and if you were able to spin, you would be open enough to be shot... ...but its not my character, and its not a weapon that you would see often, so don't let me rain on your parade... P.S. Nice Inn

Ice isn't really a common soldier that would be standing in the ranks. By the time they got close enough to be in range of Ice's scythe I'm pretty sure there won't be any arrows finding him in the middle of a throng like that.

Crossbows and bows are deadlier in close combat than they are in long-range combat, only because its easier to hit your target, but you usually only get one shot. Query?? What happens if a soldier holds up his shield and pins your scythe down. All I'm pointing out is their ineffectiveness in real-life. Most of the stuff in this board is pretty unrealistic ;D

In common strategy, the archers are not in with the close combatants so they are on the outside of the main throng where the scythe wielder would be found. Looking from the outside in, the odds of you hitting a single person are next to nil.
What happens if someone pins a sword down?

Yeah, I'll give you that one A sword would be easier to get out from under a shield, because they're not as long as a scythe, and they (usually) don't have any protrusions to get them snagged. Or they would just use they shield as a weapon until they could get their sword out... BTW: Good pics, but I'm assuming that we're supposed to imagine that the double-bladed sword is swapped with a scythe

What double bladed sword? He has a bow. I couldn't get a scythe though. *shakes fist*
It depends, a sword blade could be longer than a scythe blade and I'm not sure what you meant by protusions...

Sorry, when I saw that bow I thought it looked like a sword... my bad.
A scythe has the blade protruding horizontally, while a sword has no horizontal protrusions.

You could well be holding the sword horizontally as it gets pinned.

But by pulling it back out of a pin, there are no protrusions. Like, if you pull it backwards, there is little to get caught, on a scythe the blade could get caught, unless you angled it away and pulled it out from underneath, and then bring it back around to hit the guy from above...

With the way your spamming? It's been...a month and you already have over than 1 000 posts. Say what you want but I think you spend far to much time here and spam far too much, and this is coming from me. It's actually really starting to get quite annoying.
