Now, this is something I'm creating to help those that feel they aren't good fighting rpers. Many of you might disagree with me, and you feel that you're way is better, than that's ok, I'm not telling you that this is the only way, though there exists an rp site where we use this method to do battles.
How to start: How to start is something you have to choose yourself. If you have trouble filling you're post with rp, try and put in some thoughts, description of the environment, surroundings and stuff like that. A battle can, for example start like this:
Dagwyn walked into the fighting pit, the sand crushing under his boots. The spectators were all leaning forward, waiting for the show to start. "Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Arena! Today we have to warriors ready to prove themselves in the ring. They're both experienced fighters, so keep your eyes peeled, because this will be one heck of a battle!" One heck of a battle indeed, Dagwyn thought and glanced over at his opponent. It was a woman, probably from the south when judging from her weapon and attire. That sword doesn't look to welcoming. They're feeding me to the lioness this time.
Attacks and moves: If you have seen Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars and played a few hack and slash games, then you might have clue on how fighting goes. You grab a sword, get into a stance and swing the blade in different angles while moving your feet. This is a very simplified way to put it, and different weapons are used in different ways.
The problem is often how the other posters will respond to your attack, and how to do multiple attacks against other posters without god modding. Example:
Dagwyn moved into his preferred fighting stance, keeping his knees bent and his legs apart, his whole body facing forward. Both hands were being kept in front of his face, clenched into fists. His opponent was standing in front of him with his guard, looking quite amused, which was easy to understand since he was both bigger and stronger than the young drifter. Strength isn't everything mate, Dagwyn thought as he slid forward with a front kick, aiming for the man's gut, which was quite a big target. Quickly he followed it up with a knee strike to the groin, and two quick punches aimed at the head.
Now, after the attacks are executed, the other poster must decide if to dodge, block or otherwise evade the attack, or he can just receive them. Good fight posters are those that allow their character to receive punishment and get hurt, not just block every move thrown at them.
Destroying other people's weapons and armour: This is a very good way to make someone annoyed or irritated with you. If you're opponent has a high quality weapon or armour of some sort, don't write that you break that object without consulting the victim first trough a PM.
