Chase explained what had happened to the Southerner officer, who was listening intently. There was only about 60 of the Southern veterans here now, and there were hundred of Ice warriors in the city, and thousands more civilians.
"We have to figure out a way to save her." The officer said to Chase.
"I know, but I doubt that even I could get into that tower and get out alive with Calypso." Chase sighed, and hung his head. "There would be three guards to every door in that place now. I would be seen before I got near to the cells."
The officer thought for a moment, and looked out towards the men. They were mostly going about their business. Ten were out on patrol at the moment, making sure this camp wasn't discovered, but they had baited enough traps to give them notice of anyone trying to attack them.
Chase was surrounded by trees, and couldn't see the city. All he could see was the towering mountains above him. They were covered in snow, just like everything here. And it was thick too. Thick and heavy. Chase didn't like it, but he withstood it.
"Maybe we could make a distraction." Chase offered.
"We'd have to to get the guards away somehow. We couldn't just wait until everything settles down. Calypso will be dead by then, and if she isn't, the king will have come in with his armies." The officer tapped his fingers on his chin. "There must be something here that would gain attention from the guards."
Chase thought for a moment, and looked back up to the mountains. An idea suddenly framed itself in his mind. "The city is right beside the mountains, and there are civilians everywhere from what I could make out."
"Um, yes... Why?" The officer was a little confused.
Chase was still staring at the mountains peaks. "Lieutenant? What is the chance of us starting an avalanche?"

Samara growled as the Southerner spy spoke.
Ice listened to her speak and after a while he answered, though never moved from his position. "I don't care whether you tell me or not." Ice said, smiling cruely. "Die for all I care. One less Southerner is fine to me, but I can be damn obvious that your friend will return looking for you. Only a Pirate could be so witless. Perhaps he could betray his people. It is his nature." Ice laughed.
"There's no chance of escape. Only I can open that door and I'm not going to without information. It's your choice whether you want to die the slow, painful death of the Ice Goddess or if you want ot live. Either way will ultimately make no difference to me."

((Can we pretend there's a barred window looking outside?))
Her heart beat a steady rythem against her chest, but she daren't show that she was frightened of Chase coming to her rescue. This was all her fault, she had decided to take the idiot way in, and get captured by Ice, and Chase could die because of it. Or worse, her King would attempt to rescue her, and then war would break out.
"Most would like me warm and alive in their bed." She said, her words low and seductive. She turned from him then, a ploy of hers and walked to the barred window on the opposite side of the room. She had to get word to Chase, and fast. She closed her eye lids til they kissed her cheeks. She let loose a low, mournfol note, calling to her friend. The raven landed against the sill almost immeidiantly. She whispered her words of warning in his ear, and watched as the raven flew away before a gaurd could get him.

Chase was waiting below the outer wall line, crouched in hiding. He had waited until nightfall, hoping that the guards had lessened... or at least the civilians all would have retired to their quarters. He had most of the soldiers crouched around him, waiting for the moment when they would attack. They had snuck up under cover of darkness. They had grapples to scale the walls, but if they did it now, they would all be shot. No, he had to wait for the distraction to begin.
Suddenly, a flap of wings fluttered around Chase's face. At first he thought it was a bat, but then he saw it was a raven. What a peculiar thing for a raven to be so close to human activity... and so up North. It was very strange indeed... __________________________________________________________________________
The Southern troops who had scaled the mountains quickly got to work. The darkness was closing in, and soon they wouldn't be able to see much. Their job was to roll some of the high boulders out of position and send them on their way down towards the city. Hopefully, the tremours would start an avalanche.
It had started to snow quite heavily. It would loosen the snow on the ground and make their job easier. They carried some long tree trunks with them from the forests below. They wedged them under several boulders. This would take quite a bit of strength from them, but they were ready. Not much longer now...

Ice laughed out loud as the Southerner Spy tried to seduce him. Some people never learn. He thought to himself.
"Spy." He said, addressing his prisoner. "You'd best start getting some magical rescue soon, I'd give five minutes before someone so used to the tropics slips into a coma. Already i doubt you will ever recover your fingers, toes or ears."
Ice smiled to himself. "You had best start singing because there is nothing that can save you in five minutes."

She stuck up her nose. "Sing? I'd love to sing, but my throat is frozen solid." She said, anger and sarcasm dripping on her every word. She wanted much to slice the mans throat, and watch him bleed all over the floor. She felt her hand stray to under her breast, where her blade was kept safely. It reassured her to know that it was still there. "Tis a pity though, I've been told I have a lovely voice, though of course you northerners couldn't possibly know a good singing voice from a squawking swan." She said, turning an ice glare to the man that befitted it, Ice.

Rhaxma stood in front of the door of the Tower, quickly growing bored as nothing was happening. Something tugged at the ends of her skirt. She looked down, only to see Soyala trying to tear off a loose string that had unraveled itself. Rhaxma narrowed her eyes as she saw small bite marks form into the hem of her skirt, and she pulled away from Soyala and picked her up, only to have Soyala bite her hand from the sudden lift. A small hole could be seen only for a moment before the blood raised and slowly trickled down her hand. She looked at Soyala who was desperately trying to get out of Rhaxma's arms. She rolled her eyes and set her back down on the ground. "Just behave yourself, all right?" She looked around once again, hearing something in the distance. The sun began to drop and darkness was taking over. Rhaxma knew it would be difficult for both the armies, as the enemies will have no luck trying to save Calypso if they cannot see a thing. However, Rhaxma would not be able to see them either. She could not lose focus, as she knew anything could happen in that moment.
Suddenly, Soyala scurried back to Rhaxma. Rhaxma was about to scold her for tugging at her skirt once again, but this time, Soyala had something else in her mouth, instead bumping into Rhaxma to get her attention. She kneeled down and took the cloth out of Soyala's mouth, who quickly looked frustrated as she wanted to play with the new item. Rhaxma's eyes quickly narrowed and she gritted her teeth. The cloth was dark brown, one she knew the Pirates often wore. She stood up and threw the cloth back on the ground, only to have Soyala pick it up again. "Come on, Soyala. They must be close." She walked away from the Tower and headed in the direction that Soyala had just come from.

The soldiers had been heaving on the trunks for what seemed like ages, pushing at the makeshift levers, until suddenly, almost simultaneously, the boulders seemed to shudder under the pressure.
The snow underneath them puffed out into clouds, the earth beneath the men's feet began to rumble a little. Their hopes were lifted, and with one final push, the boulders started to shift free. They rolled slowly, but gaining speed, until... they toppled off the edge of the cliff. Four huge boulders tumbling down the mountainside. The Southerners quickly took up their crossbows and lay down in the snow, aiming down at where Chase and his men would be entering... they could use covering fire... __________________________________________________________________________
Chase heard a deep rumble from the mountains above him. He looked up only to see four huge boulders crash down the mountainside. They hit a outcropping, and shattered the rock beneath them. Then the avalanche began. Snow and rock started falling down the mountain like a huge wave. The noise was thunderous and it bellowed across the valley like an angry god...
"Go, now!" Chase ordered. Fifty grapples were thrown up towards the wall and they hooked into the arrow portholes. The small crew then climbed up the wall, heaving themselves horizontally along the slippery stone.
Chase hopped up onto the wall, and quickly saw some guards, but they were all focused on the massive wall of ice, snow and rock that was tumbling down towards the city. It crashed into buildings of the civilians, and screams started to call up from the city. The snow and rock was pummelling everything in the outer section of the city, killing hundreds on the other side of town. Chase hardly winced as the guards started to run towards the area to save their men and women.
Chase leapt over the wall onto a roof, and then down onto the streets. Once all the soldiers were over the wall, they pulled out their crossbows and swords. They quickly and silently began making their way to the cells of Elina...

Rhaxma followed Soyala, who every once in a while would roll in the snow and lose your balance, tumbling to her side. However, that never distracted Rhaxma, as she continued to keep her focus during the entire walk. The walk did not last very long, though, as she soon, only moments later, heard a thunderous sound not very far away. She narrowed her eyes to try to get a better view, but was only just too late when she saw the large boulders coming in their direction. Her eyes widened and she immediately grabbed Soyala, not caring that Soyala was nibbling at her shoulder. She ran from the boulders as fast as her legs could carry her. She dropped Soyala in a ditch, knowing that she would not be able to climb out, and quickly looked around. The guards had only just then noticed that something was coming in their direction. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw an elderly man, a warrior she knew was a veteran, but he was not moving from his spot as the boulders came tumbling down. She ran to him and pushed him out of the way, only to have the boulder hit her shoulder. She bit her lower lip to refrain from screaming out in pain, the weight of the rock colliding with her shoulder bone must have broken it, as it hurt every time she tried to move it. She kept Soyala in her ditch, even though her cries were deafening. She felt her eyes well up, but she controlled them as she went in the tower, desperate to find Ice and warn him. But, the pain was become more intense the more she moved. She stopped walking and leaned against the wall of the tower, looking upwards. She would only sit there for a few more moments... Hopefully, the Southerners wouldn't get to the cells.

Chase and his men had been bolting through the streets as silently as possible... this city was freaking massive. The avalanche had subsided and their was not much more still falling except for some rocks and snow, but the dust and vaporised snow was chokingly thick in the air, and it wasn't going anywhere quickly...
The Southerners scaled the inner wall in the same way they scaled the outer wall, but here they had to silently execute some of the guards to avoid being detected. Chase heard a familiar voice, and ran towards a low wall near to the tower. The window was small and barred, but he could still make out Calypso's pale face on the other side.
"Get me a hammer! Now!" Chase called to one of the men. He ran and quickly returned with a greathammer from an armoury somewhere. "Stand back Calypso." Chase took a run up and belted the hammer as hard as he could against the bars. They shuddered, but held true. they were solid through, and very brittle. He ran at them again, and this time one bar shattered onto the ground. One more hit, and another broke free... it would have to do.
Chase dived to the ground and stuck his hand through the window, "Give me your hand Calypso!"

ooc: What the hell? The Cold Cells are higher up in the tower! How else would it get that cold. But fine, whatever, this RP has got way too many plotholes in it already.
Ice heard the bars shattering and opened the door to the prison just in time to see a pirate hand reaching into the cell. Ice ran with Samara ahead of him. Samara snapped at the hand while Ice grabbed the Southerner Spy. She had been in the cell too long, it had made her too cold to have moved fast enough. Ice held the scythe blade to her throat. Samara was at the window, all hairs on end, teeth bared and Ice was standing in the room with one arm holding the Spy's arms behind her back and the other holding the scythe to her throat.
"Welcome back, Pirate."

"Curse you if you think I'll let you do this again." She growled, twisting her body so her leg popped up to hit him where the sun don't shine. She yanked her blade out from under her shirt and jumped, flipped, and landed behind Ice. She held the blade to his neck, resisting the urge to slice it open right then and there. But she didn't resist letting it cut into it so far that it drew blood. "Hey, Chase. What's up?" She asked nonchalently, her eyes sparkling.

Ice groaned and fell onto his knees, holding his crutch. He snarled and lifted his head as Calypso brought the blade to his neck. Ice bared his teeth and his eyes shone manically.
"You wanna be a bitch?" Ice asked coldly. "Samara!"
In an instant, the snow leopard was gone from her position at the window and had landed on Calypso, a giant gash drew across Calypso's face where Samara brought her huge claws.
Ice rolled to the side and threw up. The Spy had kicked quite hard. Ice stood up shakily and grabbed the scythe that was on the ground. He kicked the knife out of the Spy's hand and hissed in pain at the sudden movement in his groinal area.

"Hold it right there!" Chase screamed at the fighters, a sudden silence echoed in the cells after his words.
Chase held his crossbow, loaded and ready and aimed at Samara, and two Southerners behind him were doing the same, aiming at Ice over his shoulders. The other Southerners were kneeling in a wide circle, crossbows ready, waiting to shoot anybody who dared to attack the group.
"Release her, or I swear to god I will not think twice about putting a bolt through the face of your little pet her..." Chase let the words sink in. "And then you'll have two more fighting over the space between your eyes."

There was a long silence where all the could be heard was the sound of Samara's growls.
"Samara!" Ice called. In an instant, Samara was sitting beside Ice, merely baring her teeth. Calypso had been left in a harsh way though. Her cuts might not be bleeding or infected because of the extreme cold, but she was going to have some horrid scars.
"You and me aren't done, Pirate." Ice said to the Spy.
