Lyneya and the Amethyst

Nina quickly followed Lyneya as she began to run. Across the Grasslands, the Drifters sprinted toward the eastern shore. Nina's heart pounded in her head, as the sound of running boots echoed through her mind.

Looking back behind her, Nina could make out the faint outline of other persons... a small party of men, perhaps scouts, No doubt they've already spotted us, or they soon will. We're out of time...

They're all here to obtain the stone and win the war. Damn the god-forsaken war! Nina's thoughts were raging, and it showed within her eyes. She wasn't going to let this war continue if there was a way she could stop it. They won't be getting that stone, I swear it.

Nina unsheathed her sword, and turned to face the oncoming men. There weren't that many of them, unless more were hidden elsewhere. "Dagwyn, Lyneya, I can hold them off long enough to give you two a good lead! Keep running and don't worry about me!" She called to them.

She turned again; the men were clear now, and Nina recognized them immediately: Pirates...

[Alaria]

Alaria had barely anytime to jump into the row boat when it took off. Sitting inside it, she kept up her role of the Lady. Grinning she waited until the boat hit land. Leaping out of it after Sage, she ripped the skirt off her body. Pants were revealed and she pulled a hat from the skirt and placed it on her head. Looking like a were shaven young man, she drew a sword and ran after him.

Stopping next to him, she saw a woman up ahead who had her sword pointed towards them. Scowling, she looked up at her partner.

What do you think? Go around, or stand and fight? I prefer confrontation and fighting, but if we cant afford to, then I wont. A grin spread on her face as she thought of the fight that she was going to be in. Once she got the stone for her King, she could return to the main boat and fight alongside her fellow Ice Warriors.

[Jarad]

Geddo saw that they had caught up to the drifters. He waved his hands as he kept running and yelled, "HEY! Stop! We come to help destroy the stone! The Northerners and fallen angles are here to take it! We will stop them, keep going!" He yelled to them as he usheathed his sword and slowed his pace, he had to hold the enemy back, maybe even kill a few good enemies, he grinned. "OK Pirates! Do what you must! But make sure no harm comes to the drifters!"
"But King Geddo, what about you?" Geddo sighed,
"I will be all right, keep going forward, and dont stop! If the drifters tell you to stop, then do so, but keep an eye out for any ice warriors," He pointed at five of the 15 pirates, "You five stay here, incase they brought a large group also." He rose his hand up with the sword. "Stand and fight!" He cheered! As the other ten pirates ran off to catch up to the Drifters.
Thats when Geddo noticed Nina. He waved to her, "Go on ahead to your comrades, we can handle this for you Ma'am." He said with true politeness. Something one wouldn't think possible in a pirate.
(these ten pirates are NPC's and are now controlable by the Drifters. As allies!)

"Do you think I was born yesterday?" Nina glared toward the pirate. "Don't act so innocent; I know your type." Her voice dripped with malice. A trickle of fear crossed her face as the remaining pirates ran off after Lyneya and Dawgyn. Could they handle them? As far as Nina could recall, Lyneya didn't carry a weapon, and Dawgyn was quite young.

Should I run after them? She shook her head, I have to hold off what's coming...

She looked toward the pair of Northerners in the distance. Nina had never fought them up close, nor seen them in battle, but she had heard the tales. They use more than just human power; they possessed inhuman abilities, at least those were the tales. As for the pirate, she was sure she could handle him, she was just as skilled as any pirate. They were rather similar for the most part.

[Kevin Sage]

Sage didn't reply right away to Alaria's question. He studied the scene. The Pirates have come to help the Drifters... though the woman doesn't seem to believe him... do they not realize the power of the stone? Why do they persist on destroying it?

"We don't know which of the three drifters have the stone in their possession. I doubt it's this one, seeing how she stayed behind. Follow after the others; I'll join you after I deal with these two. Do not let them dispose of the stone." Sage spoke to her darkly.

Turning his bow horizontally, he knocked two arrows aimed for both the pirate and the drifter. "Go, Alaria!" Sage shouted as he released the arrows.

[Jarad]

Geddo shoved Nina out of the way as the two arrows flew through the trees, the first one just casually bounced off of Geddo's basilisk armor and the second one hit his left hand, Geddo winced in pain as he torn the arrow out of his hand. "I will hold them back, go on ahead, or stay behind I dont care, I am just not going to let any of them get to teh stone! If they do that, many innocet people will die!" Geddo said with such ferocity, anger showing in his eyes.

[Alaria]

[Alaria]

Alaria grinned. Taking off in the trees, she leaped into them, eyes on Lyneya and Dawgyn. The seemed likely candidates for having possesion of the stone. Rocketing off the branch she was on, she whipped out her sword and metal disc. The silver meatl gleamed in the light around the two, the snow colored diamonds on the rim of the Shakr'am gleaming malciously.

Hello dears, would you stop for a minute to talk to someone about a very important stone? Alaria's eyes gleamed and she took a few steps towards them, eyes searching their frames for the stone or a pouch with them.

[Lyneya Oceanheart]

Lyneya clutched the amethyst to her breast tighter still as the Ice Warrior leapt down from the trees.

She took a step back. Lyneya carried no physical weapon, but hearing the sound of the ocean above her own beating heart gave her all the strength she needed to work her own, different type of power.

Lyneya closed her eyes to the moment, to reality. She was plunged into a self-induced blackness, where she was naked in the dark. But the stone was still with her. It was throbbing against her chest, joining in with her own heartbeat. Empowering her.

But no! Lyneya forced the amethyst out of her mind, she would not use its power to hurt another, despite the temptation of power. Her morals were too high, and besides, Lyneya had always been able to dream weave without the stone, she could do it again now.

Lyneya was back in the moment, the vision clear in her mind's eye. No time had passed. . . it never did take long to develop a dream within her own mind. It worked quicker than her tongue or a blade could.

A vision of fire, of white mountains crumbling and of snow melting. Icy trees were engulfed and white buildings fell to the ground. This vision she wove before the Ice Warriors eyes. It was ironicly fitting that the nightmare Lyneya gave her would be one of the melting of snow, and the destruction of the North.

Lyneya could now only watch the Ice Warrior and see what her willpower was like. How the vision might affect her. Lyneya grabbed Dagwyn's hand, ready to run.

[Alaria]

Alaria watched Lyneya clutch the stone to her chest. So she had it! Her hand lashed out to clutch the stone but stopped dead in its tracks. Visions of the North falling were playing in her head. Melting snow, trees burning to the ground. Shaking her head, she pushed them back in her mind, not thinking about them. She was a warrior! She had training!

So, you like to play mind games? How's about this. Us Northeners dont want to destroy the stone, we want to harness it's powers for the good of all! Ice will lead us all into a life of happiness! Her hands trembled at the thought, and she gripped the stone with her own hands, trying to pul it free of the woman's hands.

ooc: if holding onto the stone as well as Lyneya was is concidered Power Playing, im sorry. I can change this post if someone tells me.

[Dagwyn]

Dagwyn turned his head around and noticed the small band of men following them. Right now I would have felt damn much better if either Rana or Teiko would suddenly appear behind those guys. Guess that's not going to happen today. Then he noticed Nina stopping, her sword unsheathed. "Then make sure our beds are neat and tidy when we join you in otherworld." Dagwyn yelled back. He had no intention of letting Nina stay back to fight the armies of the world herself, though he understood her logics. The stone needed to be destroyed, that obviously came first. But if you think you can just fight this battle and die, then you are gravely mistaken. We're all staying in this world a little longer.

They weren't able to get far before he noticed the people following, who he now noticed were Pirates. One had stayed behind with Nina, together with a stranger. Then Dagwyn noticed the woman that bounced off the trees. He didn't answer her question, nor did he draw Wargfang from her sheath. Instead he gritted his teeth and moved closer to Lyneya, who suddenly grabbed his hand. She had seemed to space out, if only for a few seconds.

The Northener reached for the stone, but stopped dead in her tracks. This didn't last long, as she quickly shook her head and brought back her focus. The girl rambled about Ice leading them to great happiness, before she suddenly grabbed hold of the stone and tried to wrestle if from Lyneya. "Oh no you don't!" Dagwyn exclaimed as he launched an elbow strike towards Alaria's face.

Nina felt a burst of rage after being shoved, then realized what had happened. Although most people would say thanks, Nina peered skeptically at Geddo. "You saved me from an arrow I could have easily evaded. Save your valiant efforts for a woman in distress." She looked toward the Northerners, one of which was running after Lyneya and Dagwyn.

you won't get away so easily...

Looking back toward Geddo, she said, "I'll leave this one to you," and nodded toward the Angel. "If you betray the loyalty you just pledged, I'll slit your throat. If one of my comrades dies because of your betrayal, I'll make sure you suffer." She turned to run off after the Ice Warrior.

They had not achieved a very great distance in the few minutes Nina had stayed behind. The Ice Warrior, Lyneya and Dagwyn were in a wrestling match for the stone.

Nina still held Valdis in front of her, but she couldn't simply charge the trio. Should she impale on of her comrades, things might get messy.

[Kevin Sage]

Sage grinned as he watched the heroic gesture. The Drifter seemed angry rather than grateful. As the woman ran off after Alaria, Sage turned toward the Pirate. He was sure Alaria could handle the drifters for now. Sage's battle was standing before him.

"I am your opponent, Geddo of the East," he stated. They were still a fair distance apart; Sage aimed his bow once more. Should the Pirate advance, he would surly be pierced with the oncoming arrow. Sage's speed would ensure that if he missed the first time, there was no chance the second would miss.

Sage stared the Pirate down, waiting for him to make a move.

[Alaria]

The elbow he launched out caught her in the nose. Stumbling backwards, she swore and put her hands to her face. Tears leaked from her eyes from the pain but she kept her ground. Swearing some more, she wiped the blood from her nose and threw Shakr'am in the air. The bladed disc flew at the man and the diamond edge aimed for his chest. If it hit, it would be embedded there.

Her bloody hands reached out and grabbed the stone again, and she began to shake her arms, to try and shake the woman up so that her hold was loosened. Snarling, Alaria gripped the stone even harder, her hands shaking from the effort. She would not lose this stone!

Before the disc returned, she launched a kick at his knees. When Shakr'am returned to her, she held up a hand and caught it without cutting herself. Gripping the stone once again, she grinned. The war would be over, and the whole land would be covered in snow! Ice would bring them a great victory!

[Jarad]

Geddo grinned and ignored the women as she fled to her comrades. "Aye, but i am a pirate, dont think I have any honor when fighting. A pirate fights to win, not to have honor." Geddo said as he took out his sword and charged at Kevin, he had to close the distence between them or he would surely lose. He whistled and two pirates jumped from the bushes behind Kevin and swung their swords at Kevin. A pirate, knows how to fight dirty.
