Lyneya shook her head, not to anyone in particular and stood watching as the old man walked out of the cave, followed by many of the other Drifters.
But one of them had remained behind. It was she who spoke, breaking the silence that was falling all around them.
Lyneya shook her head again, this time looking at the girl who had hit her not too long ago. The pain in her cheek had disappeared in the time she had encountered the Amethyst. If she could, she would have thanked the woman for it, but there were more pressing matters.
"I can't let him leave." Lyneya said, little above a whisper. "I have to try. Whether it helps or not."
Lyneya looked once more at the woman before running out of the cave, completely ignoring the emeralds and emerged to find the other drifters standing together.
The crisp sea air made Lyneya stop in her tracks. It was cold and beautiful. She could see the sea from here, and it drew back the longing that she had forgotten in the Mines. She wanted nothing more than to run to the water and dive into it and swim and swim until she found her mother. Instead, she forced herself to walk to the old man.
"Heed my warning, please." Lyneya said, not knowing quite what to say afterwards. She had run out of warnings.

Steven looked at Swift with a cold hatred in his eyes. "Power? Is that what you seek woman?" He turned full on to face her. "I am an old man... my time is coming faster than I would will it. What power could I possibly wield in days like this. Days which are ruled under the greatest warriors of our time. Under people like Ice of the North, or Khalora of the South. Or warriors like Geddo of the East... against these men I have no hope of power."
He hefted the stone into his left hand and pulled out his short sword with his right, but he held it clumsily in his burnt fingertips. "A quick rise to power is for the weak. The strong earn their positions, and the strong keep it. The weak do not understand what power is, and long for it. They lust for it. Believe me, I've seen soldiers and Kings come and go in my years. I've witnessed both men and women devoured by their lust. This stone will bring me no good, except that I might retire in luxury."
He breathed in, not letting her get in a word. For words were his greatest weapon, and here, he would use them well. "It seems that you desire this stone for power, no? Allow me to be so bold as to tell you this. YOU ARE WEAK!!"
He walked to the cliff and held the stone out over the edge. "Is this power really worth it dear rogue. Because if I die here, at least I know I died for a reason. At least I know I died for a cause. And in the end... I will live."

Dagger frowned slightly when he said that She was weak she opened her mouth to say something but he went on not letting her say a word as he walked over closer to the cliff ledge and held the stone out over the ledge she watch for a few seconds before speaking her self "Well old man I am afraid you only have one out of two things right about me I do lust for that stone but then again I lust for many rare artifacts. But I am not so sure about the weak"
she said then with a flick of her wrist her whip was around the hand that held out the stone and pulled it away from the ledge She started to walk closer to him as she grabbed her dagger from out of it's hiding place "SO how does this living in the end thing work if I was to stab you good couple of times huh." She said a smirk coming to her face.

This girl sure is desperate... Nina thought to herself. Perhaps there is some truth to what she's saying...
Of course, Nina would never allow herself to believe in magic, but she could believe in an old, ancient stone of value.
She looked around the cavern. Bright green emeralds decorated the floor. Nina had brought nothing to put them in for she had only expected to find a few - enough to barter for a ship passage. She pocketed a few stones, and then made her way back out of the cave.
Outside, she met the same people she had previously seen in the cave still arguing with the old man. One wanted to steal it, and the other girl was still trying to warn him against the dangers.
Nina shook her head. The whole situation seemed absurd.

Steven struggled with the whip around his wrist, and he knew that there was no way out of this. His mind just seemed to stop working, for he knew what was coming. He brandished his sword and held it in front of him, between him and the rogue woman. It was longer than her dagger, but he couldn't hold her forever.
"How does it all work in the end?" Steven asked, his words venomous towards her. "I guess it doesn't." He completely ignored her then and looked over at the scared woman who seemed to know so much about legends. "You say this is stone is all powerful eh? Well, its been remembered through ages I guess. Maybe I will be too."
And with that he slashed down at the whip near his hand and the sinew snapped beneath the steel. Salk had been leaning back and the sudden release lurched him backwards, even if he hadn't have wanted to, there was no stopping him falling now. Steven's hand slipped and he clutched the stone in his right hand, dropping the sword as he fell back onto nothing but air. The stone started to burn into his flesh, but he welcomed it. It would be nothing compared to what was awaiting him at the bottom of the cliff. He held it out in front of him, with the intent of smashing it apart on the rocks below.
And so Steven fell, tumbling towards the ground so far away, feeling the Earth rush towards him. And for no more than five blissful seconds, he felt great victory at the sight of the expression on the rogue's face...

[ooc: Hold on. . . wasn't there supposed to be a whole quest with everyone coming looking for the stone? How can we do that if you're dead and the stone smashed?]

Dagger growled as she looked over the edge of the cliff at the old mans dead body she was pissed not only had that man broke her whip with the sword he had with him but he had the nerve to then fall off the cliff with the rock people never listen to good reasoning they rather commit suicide then fight to the death "hn.. old man the only reason you will be remembered for is that you found the rock and then killed yourself " she sighed and looked at the old man's sword before grabbing it up and looking back over the edge. There had to be a way down the cliff but even so she could just as easily jump down and land on her feet.
She turned to the other woman "this stone, a fall like that would not damage such a stone of great power am I right it should still be in tack surely your mother would have told you such information since she has already told you so much about this stone" She asked in a mocking tone. Before Turning her back towards the woman getting ready to jump off the cliff to go check without hear the womans answer.

Lyneya stood with her hand over her mouth as she saw the man jump over the edge of the cliff with the stone.
When the trader beside her spoke, she couldn't muster any words to answer her. Lyneya's face had become completely drained off colour. She had never witnessed a death before.
Lyneya couldn't muster the courage to look down at the ground and see the old trader's body broken and twisted upon the rocks. What she feared most was that he would return and realise that she could see him and haunt her. It had happened before. Lyneya still had the scratches along the back of her neck where the last ghost had bit her. Undead souls left real marks upon her flesh.

Dagger planned it out and jumped off the cliff and landed on her feet with a soft thud. She looked for the old man's body till see spotted it just a few feet away from her he was face down in the dirt she stepped closer to him He was already becoming stiff like a boad she noted to herself when she started to look for the stone she flipped him over and knealed by him and wrinkled her nose the man had literal snapped his right arm in half from probably landing on it first but what was so amazing about it to her was that the hand still held the stone not a scratch on it. "Well, well well" She said a smile coming to her face "I guess that mean stone 3 old man 0" She stood up and looked for something to grab hold of the stone with She could use the old man's bag he was using for emeralds he was collecting with that decided now all she had to do was get the stone out of the hand and grabbing at it would defeat the purpose of the bag she grabbed the mans wrist and held it over the bag then used the old mans sword she had taken from on top of the cliff and stabbed it through his hand making the stone forcefully fall into the bag "And that makes it Swift 1 old man none" with that she tied up the bag then tied it to her own belt and started to look for a way of the island not caring if anyone saw what she had done.

Nina couldn't help but grimace as the old man's body shattered upon the rugged rocks below. She shook her head and breathed a heavy sigh. Nina found herself asking why, but then thought better of it. The reason did not matter so much.
The red-haired woman followed after the man, landing on her feet with a bit more grace than the previous fallen. Nina approached the edge of the precipice and looked down at the woman desecrating the man's body in search of the stone.
She was disgusted. No piece of treasure was worth the life of another, and to watch this woman swipe the stone without a hint of remorse left Nina feeling angry.
"What a disgusting act of thievery," Nina hissed.

Lyneya, having finally forced herself to look over the edge to watch what the other trader was doing, found herself horrified beyond she had ever been before, watching that woman destroy that man's body.
He had killed himself in an attempt to break that stone, to save the world, perhaps. Lyneya couldn't stand.
"No!" Lyneya gasped, but even to her her voice sounded tiny and weak, but her horror was slowly amplifying her voice.
"No!" Lyneya screamed with the savagry of the ocean. Death was not something she would take lightly. "How dare you? How Dare You?"
Lyneya, without even thinking, bundled her dress up in her arms and began jumping down the cliff, from rock to rock, taking the safer route.

Dagger didn't stop walking nor did she turn around after she heard the shriek of a woman from on top of the ledge. She heard steps being made witch only told her that someone was coming down "The world does not stop spinning after one death, You act as though I have killed a loved one that you have known for years" She said nonchalantly while brushing her bangs out of her eyes as she heard the sound of feet hit the earth behind her she still chose to ignor it and continued on leaving the cliff side to go find a boat and leave the mine.

Nina quickly followed stealthily after the girl, taking the same route down the cliffside.
There will be more death here if that girl decides to play hero... Nina thought bitterly.
She interjected, "Death is nothing to take lightly. You did not kill him, but to desecrate his body and steal without grief is an act as loathsome as murder!" Nina's voice shattered through the air and her words were like venom.
She reached the bottom, and her boots scraped nosily against the rocks. Nina faced the woman's back and stared her down, willing her to turn around.

Lyneya paused and began panting lightly. She was again at a loss for words, she wished she could find something stinging, something truly insulting to say to the Trader but all ideas completely eluded her.
Luckily enough, it was the other trader that responded.
Lyneya stood, not far behind the Trader, waiting for her to turn around. She didn't know what she planned to do, but she hoped she could manage something.
