Steven knocked out yet another of the glittering emeralds and threw it into his bag. It was surprisingly full now. He hadn't had such a run of luck for ages now. Usually he just gave up after a while. He wasn't as young as he had used to be. Of course he could still wave a sword around well enough, but mining was definately a different story. He got too tired too quickly these days.
But he didn't care now! He hefted the bag up onto his shoulder and walked a little way back up the path dug out in rock. The lanterns shuddering slightly above, hanging silently and flickering pale, eery shadows across the rocky floor. He started whistling a silent tune to himself. He didn't care if any of the other miners heard him, he was on a high.
Steven tripped over a rock embedded in the ground and he fell face first onto the rock. The bag of emeralds fell next to him and they scattered across the floor, bright with the light of the lanterns reflecting off them. Steven swore loudly and put his hand to his chin where the skin had broken and blood now poured profusely out of a throbbing wound.
He looked around at the emeralds scattered on the floor and swore again, reaching out to pick them up. That was when he saw the reflection off one of the emeralds rolling away from him into what he thought was a solid wall. It flipped end over end further and further off to his side until it finally rested, the lantern light only minutely glinted off its surface.
Steven kneeled up stiffly and reached up above him for a lantern. He pulled it off the hook and waved it across the wall. His heart skipped a beat as he saw that the wall actually had a small hole in it, crumbled inwards with a massive cavern on the inside, dark and yawning.
"Whoa..."

Dagger slinked her way into the mine making her way to the faint sound of of someone digging. she walked closer to see what or who it was. she croutch down low finding in the shadows as she came upon the person. An old man purrfect she thought to herself as she slinked closer to him as he hefted the bag up onto his shoulder and walked a little way back up the path whistling to himself while she hid in his shadows.
Suddenly the old man tripped and the bag that he had fell next to him all the emeralds falling out and now shinning in the light. Her eyes glinted as she looked at the jewels ignoring the old man as he swore she was about to run and get them when whn he stood up and started to pick them up making her having to go back to plan A and get him befoe they left the mine.
He stopped suddenly watching on of the emeralds roll over to a wall she started watching as well something strange was happening here she thought to her self as she stepped out of the shadows as he kneeled up stiffly and reached up above him for a lantern and pulled it off the hook and waved it across the wall. she walked closer to the man till that he should have to know that she was behind him unless that he was so old he could not sense her. She was about to tap him on his shoulder when the wall that he was waving the latern across crumbled inwards with a massive cavern on the inside. her Hand dropped to her side as she satared in shock the old man let out a whoa which seemed to be the only word that dagger could also think of at the moment as she stared in shock at it before coming around to the side of the man so that she was standing beside him and not behind him and asked "what is this place? " she questioned as her eyes started to glow as she tried to see what was in the cavern but it was even to dark for her to see.

The Emerald Mine was a place Nina had heard of fairly recently, and it had sparked an interest with her. Climbing up a small hill, Nina made her way to the mouth of the cave. The rocks upon the ground shifted and crumbled beneath her boots. A faint whistling sound came to ears as she neared the opening. Obviously, she wasn't the only one here. She had heard that many people from all over Lilan came to this cave to seek out riches. Some were luckier than others.
Once inside the cave, Nina strained her eyes to see down the tunnel. The cave was lit up by a line of lanterns casting an orange glow throughout the dark cave. Nina walked slowly down the cavern scanning it keenly for any hint of shimmer indicating a loose emerald.
A man cursed loudly. Nina laughed inwardly as his voice echoed down the caverns. Nina continued her seemingly useless search. A few moments passed and the sound of crumbling rocks could be heard further inside the tunnel.
Nina squinted her eyes against the dark. Is it caving in? How old is this place anyway? Nina asked herself. She remembered the man she had heard earlier; his voice had come from the same direction. There was a possibility that the man could have been caught in the "cave in."
Nina began to run in that direction. Her running footsteps echoed against the stone walls. She stopped suddenly when she came upon the man, and also upon a woman. Nina's eyes rested on the new area of the cave that had been discovered with the crumbling of the cave wall.

Steven started with shock as the woman came up beside him as soon as the wall fell in. "Ah! Don't sneak up on me like that little missy! You'll give me a heart attack!" He was instantly wary of her, there was something in her eyes that betrayed piracy of some sort, although she didn't look like a pirate to him. Far from it he thought.
He looked back into the cave, crouching a little to get a better look. "It's a cavern," he said it with awe, but soon tried to cover it up. "Nothing special, theres tons of them around here."
Then he jumped again as loud footsteps echoed towards him and another woman jumped out of the shadows towards him. "Where are you people coming from!?" he exclaimed. Then he thought warily, determined to get any riches for himself. He was quite a greedy person after all.
"Well then, theres nothing to fear from a hole in a wall," he said calmly, stepping into the gaping wound in the rock. The light sparsely illuminated the cavern. It was massive far bigger then he had originally thought. "Its huge!"
Then the light caught something not far away and he walked slowly towards it. At first he didn't know what it was and reached a hand out to it... but then he saw an eye socket and he stumbled back, gasping in fear and letting the lantern fall out of his grip. "A snake! A basilisk!" He called out to the darkness.
But it didn't stir. It was just a skin, nothing more. Or it was dead. Steven lay on the ground, panting heavily, his heart pounding against his chest, angry at his reaction...

Lyneya had never been this far from the ocean.
Why had she come here? She turned around in circles desperately, looking around herself, her blonde hair flying in around like golden storm clouds caught in a gale. She was lost, and she couldn't find her way out. She couldn't hear the ocean, she couldn't see it, or smell it or feel the wind against her.
Lyneya felt the terror rising in her chest and finally settling in her throat, making her want to vomit her fear all over the glittering walls that held no true beuaty to her.
Lyneya ran in any direction, she ran blindly, wanting more than anything to feel the ocean breeze.
All of a sudden, Lyneya ran straight into another woman. Lyneya, now sobbing, clawed desperately, trying to stand up on shaking feet. She was feeling claustrophobic within the green walls and all she could manage to say was.
"Ocean. . . ocean."

Dagger lifted an eyebrow nothing special huh" she said not believing him and not reacting to how he saw that all this people were appearing by him. "Sorry pops but if there where more caverns like this I would have followed you in one by now don't you think" She said waving him off as she entered in the cavern after him as he shown the light through landing it one the giant snake. She watched him have a panic attack or somethin' along the same lines "Old man don't die here we need someone to hold the lamp" she said as she looked over to him again after she got done looking at the snake.
He looked mad at himself for what he did she was about to continue on looking around the cave when a woman with blond hair bust in and ran into her which she automatically scrunched her nose up at the woman and and slinked away from her alittle then the woman started to sob and crawl around trying to stand up crying ocean ocean she sighed to herself Just how many people are going to join in on this hunt I better find something better then emeralds down here She thought to herself as she looked back at the other woman that had also entered. This was guaranteed to be the weirdest group yet.

"Oh, for goodness sake, basilisks don't exist anymore!" Nina rolled her eyes at the man’s reaction. The lantern's light reached the skin. "See there? It's dead."
She followed the man and woman inside the cavern, "It really is massive. Who knew there was such an enormo -" Nina's words were cut off as another girl came running past her and collided with the red-haired woman. Nina cocked an eyebrow as the girl crawled about the stone floor.
Just what exactly was this? A meeting twisted by fate? Nina said sarcastically in her mind. The girl was still trying to stand upon shaky knees, mumbling something about the ocean.
"Get a hold of yourself, girl!" Nina chided and swung her hand in an attempt to slap some sense into the girl.

Steven got up and dusted himself down, vowing never to let himself do that again. He peered back at the dead basilisk and into its hollow eyes, a shiver was sent down his spine but he supressed it. The woman burst into the cave, but this time he stopped himself from jumping and, as casually as he could, turned his head towards the red-haired woman, watching the raggy one claw at the ground.
He sighed, obviously not happy with how many people had just turned up out of nowhere. Here he was thinking that he made a brilliant discovery which he could get rich off, but no. Now whatever was in here would have to be split four ways.
Or was it?
He put the lantern on the ground and slinked away as quietly as he could. He started running his fingers across the walls, which were a surprisingly far way away. The rock felt bumpy, but extremely smooth.
He ran back and picked up the lantern, changing his mind and shone it onto the wall. The rock suddenly seemed to explode with light. There were emeralds everywhere in the wall. Millions of them! The wall just seemed to shiver with bright green light. It was the most beautiful sight Steven had seen in his entire life...

Lyneya felt a sharp pain across her face. A slap? She wasn't sure. It did, however, help her enough so that she could stand up. She was shivering, despite the fact it wasn't cold, but she wasn't sobbing or talking. What if her mother reached the shores while she was down here, Suffocating in the darkness?
With a pang of shame, Lyneya noticed how she was being looked at by the others around her and she quickly averted her attention towards the ground. Suddenly fascinated by a rock of meaningless importance.
When Lyneya finally looked up, she could see the wall of emeralds. The way it shimmered in the firelight. It made Lyneya calmer.
She walked up to the cave wall and ran her hands along it. It was smooth.
"It's like the sea." Lyneya said, suddenly feeling a great fascination for the wall of gems that looked so much like the most important thing in her life. It helped to ease her claustrophobia, if but a little, it helped her enough to act normal.

Dagger turned her head from the woman who had finally pulled herself together and watched as the old man grabbed back the lantern and turned it towards the wall that he was feeling on in the dark. There were tons of elemalds that all shined brightly on the cavern wall, the woman that had ran into her said something about it being like the sea maybe this chick could not see the possibility of all this jewels, they could all become rich.
She ran a hand through her red hair as her eyes glinted something wasn't right since when was finding a treasure like this easy unless there is something more here that was better then this she walked up closer the the wall and started to look for anything that might lead to another room or better treasure. She continued to look before turning back around sounding to be defeated more like pretending to be defeated before stating. "Is this all there is usually there is something more worth while you now" she said with a sigh as she leaned against the gem covered wall.

Nina's hand tingled after her open hand made contact with the girl's face. She seemed to have regained composure - somewhat. "There now," Nina said to her in a mock tone.
The old man had placed the lantern on the ground, hoping to slip away and gain his treasure unnoticed. Nina walked after him, curious to see what he may find in such a dismal place. "Is there something specific one might find down here?" Nina asked. Her question was shoved aside as the man came rushing back past her to retrieve the lantern he had left. Apparently, there was something of interest down here.
When he had shone the light upon the wall again, it came to life. Rays of green reflected upon the floor and the ceiling. Nina walked up next to the man and skimmed over the wall with her eyes. "Guess you don't have to sneak away greedily, there's plenty here," Nina jeered at him.

Salk wasn't listening to anything the others were saying. He was completely tranzfixed on the wall in front of him. "Rich..." he breathed to himself, letting a laugh escape his voice.
"Rich," he said more loudly now.
"Rich!" He was yelling now. "Rich! We're all stinking bloddy rich!" He laughed happily and picked up his pick, letting a massive blow, full of eagerness, hit the wall, knocking out shards of emeralds which fell to the floor. He threw two more shots at the wall until there was a large gaping hole there. The wall was hollow.
It drowned his spirits only a little, he had expected the wall to be metres thick, but obviously he was wrong. He pushed his eye up to the hole and glimpsed a bright blue refelction far off in this smaller cavern. Possibly another jewel, but it was far larger than any of these ones. He had to have it, so he kept it quite and hammered away at the wall, enlarging the hole, knocking out the emeralds for collection...

Looks like someone got lucky. Dagwyn had been standing in the shadows the whole time, leaning on his pick. He himself hadn't been lucky at all. His comrades, his friends had been killed, every last one of them. Rana had gone down first, a crossbow bolt hit her right in the heart. Teiko had been trying to reach the man in plate armor, but after chopping trough 10 soldiers his head had been sliced off. Dagwyn had tried to stay close to the twins, but five soldiers had made sure he was forced backwards into the forest, where he had fell of a cliff.
After stealing a boat he had been able to get to the Emerald Iland. Two days. Two days since they were killed, since I got here. His pockets weren't as full as he had hoped they would be, and now it seemed that the little party had hit the spot. With the pick over his shoulder he walked up to one of them, a woman with misty blue eyes. "Found anything interesting?" he said in a low voice, face serious as always. He hadn't spoken to other people in a while, something that bothered him.

Dagger watched the old man dig at the wall hearing the hallow sound it was giving off so it ment that the old man had noticed it as well. She continued to lean up against the hallow wall listening to the sound of the emeralds hit the ground. He attenchen turned to a man with pick over his should who walked out of the shadows and joined in on this happy party. He walked over and asked with a serious face "found anything interesting?" I cocked an eyebrow at him she wasn't stupid and neither was the old man which is why both of them kept quiet about there so called find. "It depends on what you call interesting" She said in a equally low voice with a smirk coming to her face. "But I would call this wall" she said patting the wall she was leaning against "pretty interesting. And that dead snake over there was our interest in less then what four minutes ago" she said with a smirk still on her face.
(Am I the girl with the misty blue eyes we all seem to have blue eyes so sorry if i screwed up)

The man grew excited, and began hacking away at the wall. "Easy, old man! You're going to give yourself a heart attack," Nina mumbled.
Seemed like the old man broke through the wall. "You're going to bring the whole place down!" Nina warned him. She raised her voice so he could hear her over his chopping. She crouched down to pick up a few shards that the man had discarded upon the stone floor.
She took note of another man who had entered the cave. He questioned the red-haired woman – a stupid question at that.
Seems like that woman attracts the queerest of people… Nina thought, recalling the frantic girl.
((I think it was me, but that's okay ^^ Nina would have had a rude remark for him anyway, seeing how he's truly a genius =P It's for his sake that you answered him!))
